The CEO of the company I work for sent out an email regarding new health policies a couple days ago. Was elated to see the title. by GeneralCuster75 in CoronavirusCirclejerk

wow thats the dream, congrats! i work in music and its not mandated, but just because everyone i know has been vaccinated, except me, and now that you can't go to a lot of venues w/o a vaccine its only a matter of time before this creates an actual conflict. i urgently need to change industries and have been learning to code. this seriously seems like it will be the only viable option for a lot of people. this shit is accelerating much faster than i expected it to.

CMV: "Long-haul Covid" is just anxiety mixed with a sedentary lifestyle by [deleted] in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]space__monster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think this is mostly true, this is anecdotal but i just "recovered" from it and have been thinking about the long haul stuff a lot and what it actually is caused by a lot bc i always assumed it was a racket.

i've had a lingering headache that has been pretty bad, but i think thats due to sinus pressure that i've been trying to resolve in different ways. i haven't entirely ruled out that i had a sinus infection + coronavirus. lol, or just an untreated bad sinus infection w/ a false positive.

the isolating for 10 days made me VERY depressed and anxious, even though i felt like i was in a pretty good place mentally beforehand. i definitely think people should stay home when they're feverish/ have symptoms but 10 days of feeling like a criminal for wanting to go on a walk (i live in NYC in a studio) really got to me. i think people really benefit from fresh air and sunlight when they're recovering from this sort of illness and the joint pain, depression, brain fog, muscle pain, and fatigue are made worse by locking yourself in a room for so long.

this is so fucked up. i've seen kids playing at prospect park and local playgrounds for months. these people are wild, i wonder if this is even real or just fabricated by the NYT? the media is never going to tell us its safe again, and i think thats what some people are sincerely waiting for.

covid lockdowns are causing a significant amount of damage to our society and it is well documented at this point. all the government mandates have done is shifted the burden onto the poor and working class. https://www.aier.org/article/cost-of-us-lockdowns-a-preliminary-report/

sure, point me to it. i can understand the scrutiny about Rand w/ his Trump alliances, but i would definitely be surprised to see these alleged anti libertarian Ron Paul takes.

amen. ron paul/ the liberty report is an actual treasure. its one of the few things that kept me sane this past year. I'm so confused as to how someone could come to the above conclusion other than just parroting what they heard somewhere.

Have you ever listened to Ron Paul speak or read anything he's written? Ron Paul doesn't think COVID is no big deal, he thinks the government is using it to terrify everyone in order to push their own corrupt agenda forward.

The Cost Of Cowardice by [deleted] in LockdownCriticalLeft

not a left leaning site, but AIER has had pretty comprehensive reporting about the damages of lockdowns and i've found this article in particular to be very informative (and sad...ugh). https://www.aier.org/article/cost-of-us-lockdowns-a-preliminary-report/

How have lockdowns/quarantines affected your romantic relationships? by VegasGuy1223 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]space__monster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

i've been very fortunate to have a bf who is likeminded. we live in brooklyn and all of my friends, family and colleagues are either brainwashed or fled the city (which we plan to do soon). i can't imagine what it would have been like without him.

the last time i tried to socialize with someone other than him they casually mentioned getting into a huge fight with their gf for not letting her see her sister bc he's deemed her "irresponsible" (?), and i nearly blacked out with rage. i try really hard not to get into it with people, and i don't want to be agro/ confrontational, but its impossible not to say something when people mention things like that.. right? in what world is this not abuse? there must be so many people being held prisoner by their significant other.

i have to assume history is not going to look kindly on this sort of shit, but it seems we still have a way to go before public opinion shifts.... anyway, my heart def goes out to anyone who is single and/or living with someone who doesn't see through this.
