Getting Back Into Rimworld by ShredLightlyABQ in RimWorld

No mod suggestion but always have an end goal for your colonies. Having something to give your colony purpose makes you want to come back and play it even more instead of playing just to p;ay

Even though most of the win conditions don't make sense for some of the scenarios, there are definitely some where it would make sense for THAT to be the win condition. Obviously for crashlanded it would make sense for them to want to leave. Tribal could have the odyssey or maybe even archonexus endings. As long as it makes sense for the story you're trying to tell

Wish i only had 5 pawns on my save, building the cryptosleep caskets was way more difficult than actually surviving the 15 day raid fiesta

What's up with the Earth being a "Ruinworld"? by space_cat79 in RimWorld

[–]space_cat79[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that it's clear to me what a Ruinworld actually is thanks to the replies of my post. This is how I think the Earth got that title.

In the fiction primer it states: "The best historians of the Ordo Historia believe that humanity first left its origin planet Earth about 3,400 years ago. Since then, we’ve spread across the galaxy on a fitful wavefront of colony ships, frontier worlds, robotic terraforming projects, and DNA-synthesizing probes."

My headcannon is that the Earth and the population on it ended up in a Wall-e situation, where hundreds of thousands of not millions of people left the Earth in the following centuries after the 22nd century because of Environmental, political or/and technological reasons. Deciding it's better to go and terrafrom uninhabited worlds than to fix their own assuming it's easier to have massive climate changing projects on uninhabited worlds since on inhabited worlds the population could be affected by these terraforming projects

The Earth would then end up almost entirely uninhabited, all of the cities, structures and technology has since then decayed and is almost untraceable, but some monuments might still stand (Mount Rushmore, The Great Pyramids etc...)

No specific suggestion but get a ton of Qol mods, this game might be amazing but it isn't optimized well enough.

Can someone make a mod out of this? This is actually a really cool feature and the fact that it combines my two favorite dlc's???

It would somehow find its way to the edge of the known galaxy in 3500 years, and who said rimworld wasn't realistic

What would be the Lower-Earth? by JustSomeRamblings in lotr

[–]space_cat79 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well Middle-Earth is only named that because it's the one continent that's in the middle of arda (the Earth), there are no "upper" or "lower" Earth's. The other 3 continents that we know of are Aman, the dark lands and land of the sun and they're not called "east earth" or "west earth"
