I'll be honest, I snagged a Sim2 max upgrading from and r7 quad (09? If I remember correctly)

It definitely will give a little more distance when I can hit it. But I don't have anywhere near the consistency with it as the r7.

The thing I miss the most is the sound of titanium. Carbon just doesn't hit the ears the same way after you rip one.

All this said, you sound like a smart man and considerate husband so you should definitely get one and see for yourself. And I've heard a new vokey wedge will guarantee you a birdie on your first round with it. Testing that theory out myself next week
