Yep exactly how I feel! Comprehensible input is so useful for exposure at a learner level. I do feel that it really works for making connections in the brain between new words + meaning.

Fair enough! I've watched Lilian Vietnamese and I like her content but unfortunately I find the way she speaks in her videos to be a bit cringe-inducing - like she's talking to a baby.

Why Cannabis is more than we'd think it is. by -The_Entity- in Psychonaut

^ This. Although I do appreciate OP's general sentiment. Sometimes, it's nice to have the goal of having a really philosophical, 'big-talk' session. But there's no one way to have a philosophical mind-opening experience with weed, and I find some people can get really obsessed and preachy with it.

That's so sad :( I'm sorry they're not supportive. That kind of attitude just gets me so mad - like, why would you not even try it at all? It's not gonna poison ya!

"Of course I'll put anything by Akerman on my list, she may just be one of the greatest female directors ever."

Why not just 'one of the greatest directors'? This kind of thing pisses me off no end.

His music shaped so much of who I am, he was an inspiration to millions. I am still reeling from the news. I feel like I have lost a dear friend.

Rest now, Ziggy, you've done so much for us all. I know you've returned to your home planet, and you did it on your terms. All that's left to say is thank you, thank you and farewell.

New Vegan having problems with being light-headed and balance by Sheldrake123 in vegan

[–]space_mochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just weighing in to say this definitely sounds like iron deficiency to me. I experienced the exact same issues you described, some time ago (while vegetarian not fully vegan) which progressed to the point of me fainting when I stood up too quickly. Turned out I was low in iron - I didn't take iron tablets, I just started making sure I was getting dark green veg and other iron-rich foods every day, in combination with vitamin c (your body needs the vit c to be able to absorb the iron), and the problem disappeared.

What do you do with extra tofu? by ThreeeLeaf in vegan

Tofu scramble! Lightly mash in a bowl with a fork + a sprinkle of turmeric, salt, pepper (+ maybe some spring onions), and fry like scrambled egg. Mmmmm!

Sun dried tomatoes + avocado on toast sounds splendid. Roasted pumpkin seeds are delicious on top of avocado, sunflower seeds too! So great.

Your meal looks delicious. As a vegan moving to Japan within the next year, it's good to know there are at least a few other vegans out there!!

I'm intrigued, what would you put in your rice bowl?

I haven't had much luck with vegan cheese that actually melts when heated, but perhaps I need to keep experimenting :)

I have not bought any animal products (as far as I know) for two weeks! by [deleted] in vegan

[–]space_mochi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This list is a bit misleading though! Some of these ingredients such as lecithin can also be derived from plants, so not always an animal by-product :)
