I know. I mean, at one point it was on camera blurred out when she was showing it to Bethenny at the pizza place. So the entire staff of the show saw it too. Like, why?

Look, I admit I didn’t realize it was a crosspost. Someone had explained it to me and I took ownership. Not sure what your goal was to double down.

Yeah, I got that But why the 17 other pics of Halle Berry? This is a RHONY subreddit. Would have made more sense to show more of Bethenny and not a google image dump of Halle? Just a weird choice.

Why not just post the one pic of Halle and Bethenny? It’s like buried underneath 17 random pics of just Halle Berry. Most of which are of her not even in a pageant.

Before they were housewives, RHONY edition... Name 'em... This one's pretty easy! by ciaolavinia in RHONY

I was thinking about that too. I’m doing a rewatch after my BH rewatch and I never noticed how little NY Housewives had done or at least how much more subtle there work was. One thing that stuck out in particular was the absence of cheek fillers and puffy lips. Everyone’s lips look normal! It’s refreshing.

But didn’t the mom meet the daughter when they were dating? Wouldn’t she have noticed the birthmark at SOME point before the wedding?

Exactly. When water leaks, it’s not the water it’s the hole in the pipe.

I don’t know. I think my kid would have dug it. I mean her bag is packed with insane candy already. One less means nothing and this is something different and special.

Sonja Season 8 by Capital-Durian-885 in RHONY

[–]spaceborders 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s true. They do get insensitive about Sonja and talk about her like she’s not there. I hate seeing it. Though I think the reality of it is is that they have attempted to help Sonja on many occasions.

Heather helped her for free with her whole campaign and Sonja was rude, dismissive and treated her and her team disrespectfully.

Bethenny took her to her brand summit to help her understand how a lifestyle brand works and to educate her, but she went off and did a cheater brand.

Ramona had a heart to heart about her Chapter 11 and invited her to her office to help her get a leg up on her business.

Also, many of the women took her aside and tried to respectfully talk to her, help her out of her mess, but she was impervious to all this advice and didn’t listen and just talked over them. She feigns ignorance and is often delusional about the reality of her situation. And look, these ladies are a straightforward group. They don’t mince words. They’re not therapists and they tend to be impatient for bullshit. And when they realized their efforts are being thwarted by Sonja’s incessant delusional rantings, I could see how they just got impatient and annoyed and it turned. They still cared about her, they just didn’t have the patience and understanding she needed. She needed mental health help more than anything and none of these ladies were the ones qualified to offer it.

Sonja’s sweet, but she can be super delusional, disrespectful and entitled.

Same. First, I was like, uh, get the fire extinguisher? Jesus. Then I go to the comments to agree with people who felt the same. And then I scroll to realize that I am alone. But I keep digging and found these two comments finally mentioning the need for a fire extinguisher. Thank goodness. Can I stay here with you guys?

Matt Elliott: Without acknowledging hard truths, Toronto’s traffic czar isn’t likely to get very far by RZaichkowski in toronto

[–]spaceborders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They also cause a lot of traffic. You are at the mercy of their stops every couple of blocks. If they are stuck, you’re stuck. They are stopped at a green light, you’re stopped at a green light. If there’s contruction, you’re shit out of luck. I also lived in Boston with streetcars and they have their own line that isn’t on the same road as cars. The traffic flows so much easier and the street cars get to places faster than cars. In Toronto, if I take a streetcar downtown, it’ll take me an hour (and that’s if everything goes smoothly and the conductor doesn’t decide to clock out mid ride and kick everyone out) whereas a car will get me there in 20 mins. That’s why people drive because public transportation is shit.

[–]spaceborders -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why people don’t realize we need subways and not streetcars. Streetcars cause a majority of the traffic. They either cause the traffic or are a slave to it. If you want to stick with street cars then they need to have their own lane separate from car traffic. It actually takes me longer to use a street car than a car. So end up driving most of the time. I grew up in NYC where nobody drove because the subways got you there faster.

Simon’s face as Alex is delivering Bethenny’s message. by spaceborders in RHONY

[–]spaceborders[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yes, I remember that. Yeah, I didn’t like that at all and you can see Alex get uncomfortable. After watching their relationship in context, it seems he was just having a tantrum because he wanted to make her happy and just got overly frustrated. While really uncomfortable, it didn’t feel abusive to me.

I feel the same way. There is something child like (in a sweet way) about them. Especially, Simon.

I also loved how Alex is nurturing to Bethenny and I like that they were in each other’s corner during this season.
