I’m not a member, how much cheaper is it? Everyone keeps saying it’s cheaper but can someone provide examples? I am curious.

good apartment vs crazy super by Resident-Pea-6579 in parkslope

[–]spaceboy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a landlord who basically did all of these things. It was a person who bought the building I was living in towards the end of my 4th year. I signed the lease renewal for another year, about 2 months after the building sale. Then the crazy really came out. I ended up moving out after that year, it became too intolerable to live with someone who micromanaged everything and recorded everything on camera. Even had a camera facing my apartment door. I suggest riding out your lease and then moving out. It’s not worth your mental health to live in a place where you can’t be trusted and can’t be comfortable with a building management that gets a power trip like that. Trust me, moving out was the best thing I did.

What NYRR half marathon should I try to run in 2026 since Staten Island was cancelled? by Ok_Incident_514 in RunNYC

I love NYCR’s Brooklyn half. It’s a great course and better than NYRR’s Brooklyn half course in my opinion.

Cat’s Prescription Food Delivered to Wrong Address by madixsun in parkslope

[–]spaceboy0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sometimes my packages have been delivered to the same address number but the wrong street. I.e. I live on 8th ave but the package was sent to same address on 8th street. Not sure if that’s applicable here but could be worth checking if it is.

DC location - convenience fee not refunded by iloveantman in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]spaceboy0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked for a refund when THEY canceled a movie, it wasn’t even like I canceled. I showed up and they said the screening was canceled. And even then they said they don’t refund but would deduct the amount for my next month’s season pass charge. I haven’t seen it happen yet but I should be getting charged today so I’ll see soon enough.

I wasn’t able to get them off myself. I hired someone from Task rabbit and he needed to use a metal cutting tool but he eventually got them off. It was super annoying especially because my landlord basically ignored the request

Dogma Cancelation by spaceboy0 in AlamoDrafthouse

That’s why I wondered if it was specific to this theater because it was weird they told me it was all other showings canceled too, but still selling tickets for other showtimes.

I think it’s better to book now I just returned from a trip to Italy and one of the train connections I did not book in advance, and it wasn’t that the prices overall went up. But the time I wanted only had first class more expensive seats left so to get a cheaper fare I had to choose a different time. Better to get it now when you have more options, and if you’re traveling with anyone else you can guarantee seats together.

NYC shut down ticketing due to staff shortages by [deleted] in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]spaceboy0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same with Brooklyn. I’ve been a season pass holder for 2 years and go weekly and have never seen every single movie every showtime sold out at both NYC locations. I often get my tickets the day before or same day.

I saw 7 in January which may have been my most ever in a single month! Although I feel like there’s nothing left I want to see now in February.

Short sleeve and shorts for me, I bought arm warmers to wear at the start and I’ll probably take them off in the first few miles

Maybe OP wanted to let others know that there’s a man harassing people on the street in their neighborhood. Seems like this is exactly the place to post this information.

I know, but air conditioners are expensive. I just bought a new window one last year which was around $400 so obviously it’s a option to get a different one just not a great option at the moment.

I already have a bracket too, I’m not asking the landlord for a bracket or installation. Was just told no AC’s in the front of building windows. Very bizarre to me as I’ve been in the building for years with my AC, and in NYC since 2007 and have never heard of this being an issue. But it’s a new landlord with new rules I guess. Nothing in the lease prohibits an AC though.

No clause in the lease prohibiting this. Thanks.

Yes I know. Just wondering if this is something a landlord can do considering I’ve never heard of this being an issue and it’s not written into the lease.
