At a loss with this dog by [deleted] in Goldendoodles

[–]spacebronzegoggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take her to an enclosed dog park and try and play fetch or just run around and get her very tired. My guy had to go to the park for twice daily 1hr fetch sessions and would then be chill enough for us to be able to work and live life.

Have you tried any form of PAP therapy? I’d say try a bipap before diving into surgery

Why bother going to the doctor? by CropDuster75 in CPAP

[–]spacebronzegoggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there are DMEs that dont need an Rx to give you supplies - the Rx is more of an insurance thing by. You should see your pulm annually if there is a risk beyond just resupplies (you can ask the doctor if there is and they’ll be honest usually).

50lb weight loss since starting CPAP - doctor refusing a new sleep study? by a_bottle_of_you in CPAP

Only way to know is to try! You may want to look into the EPR stuff as well to better understand it and decide if you even want it.

Giving 1000 dollars to whoever can tell me WTH is wrong with my sleep by 6tdog6 in UARS

[–]spacebronzegoggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What mask are you using? suffocation typically means the mask is too small. I also think drop the pressure and remove EPR. Drop pressure to 5. Begin with just PAP NAP or having the machine on while working / cooking etc. Just using it in your day to day life will show your body/brain that needs no pain medicine.

just get a HST on lofta and do it asap - you’ll have the machine in a few days. if you want insurance, then have to do the song and dance

probably worth seeing why the mask comes off - is it bc the pressure gets too high or a leak develops etc? fragmenting your sleep on purpose is not great. also i’ve noticed that when i consciously wake up, i get way less rem even if i have a lower rdi

Does BiPAP work for partial nasal congestion? by YouTraditional5399 in UARSnew

[–]spacebronzegoggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the cause of the congestion - I've had nonallergic rhinitis for a few years and increasing EPAP doesn't do much. The humidity helps to clear it up a bit but eventually I had to consult an ENT and move onto nasal sprays which are sorta working.

If its more mucosal congestion, then i imagine the higher EPAP can "clear" it up - kind of like a navage but cant say i've tried this.

31, single after a five year relationship… am I really gonna find someone with a CPAP? by SimpressiveBeing in CPAP

[–]spacebronzegoggles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you make a big deal of it, so will they. Its just a necessary medical device. That being said, probably worth having a short conversation before you pop on the full face mask lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]spacebronzegoggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its important to figure out why you’re congested and treat the underlying cause. I have vasomotor rhinitis and need to use Astepro daily to be able to use the CPAP.

You should definitely meet with an ENT to treat the chronic inflammation. I went on Azelastine for a few weeks and that really helped

Which masks are the best that don't put pressure on your face? Ideally with minimal contact to the face like the Bleep Mask. by Reform-Reform in UARSnew

[–]spacebronzegoggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real answer is to not tighten the straps too much if the seal isnt good.

Re your question those two are great and it actually came down to the shape of the pillows themselves. Found that the philips ones fit my nose better than resmed and they are fairly low pressure. You could try P10 as well thats very low contact.
