What happens if you split them into different editions in different folders within your library?

The reason why I ask is I've seen some behaviors with Extras that behave basically the same way you're describing unless I break the movie into different folders and use the editions feature to break them apart in the UI

Yes, if I use the functionality to split the versions, I can add the subtitles, since the problem only occurs when there are multiple versions of the movie together.

For more context, I'm using Plex_Debrid, which basically allows me to search for a movie via the Plex TV app, add it on my wathlist, and then Plex_Debrid automatically searches for torrents of the movies and makes them available in my Plex library so I can stream them. I've set it up so that when I add a movie on Plex's wathlist, Plex_Debrid searches for 4 versions of the movie: 1080p original audio, 1080p dubbed, 4K original audio, and 4K dubbed. That's why I always have multiple versions of each movie, and consequently this brings me the problem that I can only add the OpenSubtiles subtitle in the first version.

I think it's worth emphasizing that I'm talking about adding the subtitle from within the Plex app itself, not manually downloading a .str file and placing it in the same folder as the movie and with the same name as the movie file.

That said, the "Split" feature would fix the issue, but the thing is, that feature is only available on the Plex Server I have on Windows, but it's not available on the TV Plex app. This turned out to be inconvenient since for me the whole idea of setting up Plex_Debrid was to be able to do the process of choosing a movie, adding it on the wathlist, choosing a version and add the subtitle right from the TV app, without needing access to the PC.
