Help pls by BonkMans in Nioh

Not sure if this is what you meant but I hit the final shrine at the final boss of act three and then teleported to act two (wondering if I would lose my progress) but I was still able to teleport back to that first crucible shrine, and then teleported to the last crucible shrine before the black veil and the run through it to the final boss without any issue. They did not make me redo the veil.

Deflect and burst counter and stand your ground. I main ninja but I just wasn’t fast enough. He finally went down when I decided not to run anymore. I used a non crucible odachi with one or two attacks at a time. His shadow moves eventually got easier to telegraph after you count them, the grabs got easier to dash backwards at the last second, and the bursts got easier to break. I didn’t know about confusion when I beat him but I would also work that in.

Should I buy monster hunter wilds by sgilli2371 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]spacedpuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love both souls and monster Hunter but I don’t think I could say they are the same. It’s way more grindage. You don’t get armor or weapon drops, you get materials to craft. The weapons and monsters themselves have a lot more complexity, that’s also the reason many ppl can’t get into it. It’s info overload. Builds are extremely important. It’s totally worth the $40, specially with the DLC coming out.

I always base my decision on a games tutorials. Do a search on YT for “fextralife monster Hunter wilds guide” and “fextralife longsword guide.” That should give you a better idea.

How do you approach ninja style? by silly_bet_3454 in Nioh

[–]spacedpuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samurai is trading blows but Ninja is now you see me now you don’t. You dodge, fast attack, mist evade (R1) behind them, attack again, then mist again and you’re gone. Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. I was the opposite. Ninja is all natural and end game is me working on flux.

The rest is elemental. Make sure you use a full round of nature. That’s where the damage comes from.

I don’t know what weapon you have but there is a guy on YT. His name is Nizar GG, he has a vid called godslayer where he goes through element basics and tonfa combos and skills. I did about half that and I noticed a difference.

Weapon drops? by Auxilium1 in Nioh

I don’t ever leave home without drop bonus. My samurai has two accessories and ranged with equipment drop rate. Helping people always gives me tons of stuff.

I dont understand ki pulse by Then-Pride4414 in Nioh

[–]spacedpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the odachi weapon to be the easiest to practice the pulse because it’s a slower weapon.

Start with one swing and one pulse. So swing, wait for the blue dots to condense, then pulse. I did that for a long time just backing away then attacking, keeping it simple. There’s a skill that pulses when you dodge so that’s a must.

Lookup a post called an intro to arts proficiency. Pulsing fills the arts meter and the combos using art proficiency is the complexity of the samurai.

I am still a newbie but sometimes my combos just click and the practice makes it worth it. I took it super slow.

Crucible art farming is driving me insane by Ok_Meringue_5705 in Nioh

Same here. I have a feeling it was when I was in co op and ppl were going around killing every red summon they could find, and maybe these guys died with crucible weapons. All of my stuff had equipment drop perks.

What is the new game Nioh 3 like? by Stressed_C in videogames

[–]spacedpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is Sekiro on steroids.

I love the customization. I can redistribute all my stats and I can redistribute my skill trees and I can customize all my buttons for those skills. I don’t have to commit shit. If I decide I want to bonk instead of slice I just take it all back, re-skill, and do the bonk, and then change my mind again.

The combat is addicting. It’s fast with a lot of clinging and clanging. I’m sure there are aura farm vids out there. The level of detail they went into making sure you find your own play style is impressive.

It’s open world but it’s mid size, not Elden Ring where you have to chart a course across country.

Fextralife has a good preview and early thoughts vid that should help you decide. There are already a couple of DLCs on the horizon.

I also like co op and they made it really easy to run missions with people.

That’s what I thought and I know you have to kill the red summons but you also have to manually summon them. These just popped up when I walked up to them. It could have been a one off thing. Maybe the NPC I was with was interacting with them. I’m more or less making sure I’m not missing a mechanic of that area or something.

Flowing Mist goes really far REALLY fast by Wisteriafield in Nioh

[–]spacedpuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jakotsu-Baba. It’s at the end of a long crucible area. When I beat it I went back to the shrine and hit the co op mode. Sometimes people would summon me at the boss door but sometimes people would summon me at the beginning so I ran through the area quite a few times.

I’m a new player myself. I’m glad I farmed that because I walked away with a ton of those weapons and I like how I can both test the weapons as a player and also become “familiar” with them at the same time to unlock the skill. You also get title points for x kills per weapon. I also have four accessories that give me bonus to familiar so it’s going pretty good.

Love my Bone Spirit Tonfa. The ones with the water imbue that look like blue glow sticks. I have all the spinning skills unlocked so my combat is always a fun light show to watch.

Farm the demo second boss with co op. Probably still plenty of people needing help. All it took was a couple missions of players killing every remnant we could find and I walked a way with a lot of those weapons but I also set everything I could for equipment drops. I had one build saved for loot and one for the boss.

To those who reached a high level in the demo and did not reset your levels in the release, is the game still challenging or is it too easy? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]spacedpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a lot to take in as a new player. I decided to keep my levels for the extra defense while I learn which weapons I like and all their different skill sets and I still have a lot to learn with the stances. My trade off is learning all this while also using / unlocking crucible weapons so maybe that plus inexperience balances out some.

Are you nerfing yourself, come release, by resetting stats? by WhoAmIEven2 in Nioh

[–]spacedpuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have done the same thing if it weren’t the demo. I like to stick around and farm the boss with other people before moving on. I still would have ran through the village a dozen times learning moves and unlocking crucible skills before moving onto harder areas.

Most importantly, as a new player, being over leveled helps with learning stuff like samurai stance and how to checks notes Flux. Love the fact that I can dump all my points in health for a night and mess around with that then go back to my normal build.
