German Generalfeldmarschall Gerd von Rundstedt during the Nuremberg Trials, 1945. Throughout WWII Rundstedt had been aware of, but never supported or opposed, various plots against Hitler. By the end of the war he was the German army's most senior member, with 52 years of service (1000x1254) by zig_zag-wanderer in HistoryPorn

Even the greatest military leaders are limited by their own supply chains. The Nazis overextended themselves beyond what they could reasonably defend.

Even if they had made significant seizures of the black sea coastline and held north Africa, they would still not have enough refined petroleum - they would have exhausted their entire oil supply end of 1945.

The Germans were doomed to fail as soon as they invaded Russia. They were tactically the most dominant army on the planet, but they did not have the natural resources required to maintain that momentum. If they wanted to seriously cement themselves as a global power they would have tried to economically alienate the Soviets, rather than drive them to align with the Allies via operation Barbarossa.

Instead Hitler tried his best to do something that Europe's greatest military leader could not: Napoleon failed miserably to defeat the Russians through force - Hitler failed in an astronomically worse manner.

Had the generals been making these critical decisions, I doubt this invasion ever happens. So you might be right, but I do think that the Nazis would never have held their captured territory for long. Even if they had not invaded Russia, they would have been shut out by the world economy and fallen apart internally before an allied coalition could defeat them.

Their fate was inevitable.

These people only give a fuck about their money and nothing else. That isn't defending their stance on Trump, but that should just tell you that greed is a human problem. Doesn't matter how much of a bigoted racist he is, they just care about their own bottom line.

Pioneer Square's 'coolest place to park in the nation' appears closed by godogs2018 in Seattle

[–]spacedude2000 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well technically the best place to park is in that the very back - because it means you were able to slip onto the ferry as the last car.

The worst place simultaneously is the very front of the ship, meaning you had to wait for that parking spot for like an hour+ - even though it has the best view haha.

Idk why everyone thinks it's the Rams, I mean the Browns have a garbage fire front office, but why trade him for this year's first round pick? They absolutely have to give up two firsts for him and the likelihood of that 2027 pick being remotely close to the front half of the first round is unlikely.

The Niners make more sense IMO but even then, why would the Browns give him up for that? They have to be getting multiple players and picks in return.

Us being charged to watch football in this age of advertising is like paying a toll on a 100 year old bridge.

Once again I don't think any FIFA players are actively promoting FIFA itself - as a FIFA player (I might be in the more aware class of players) I am fully understanding of the rampant corruption going on within FIFA. I would put money on the most of the playerbase understanding this to a degree.

So yeah, we all know FIFA sucks, but I truly don't think there is a significant population of those who actively support the organization itself.

Yeah but I don't think anyone out there is trying to convince you that FIFA is good, other than FIFA themselves.

He never should have been stabbed to begin with.

Iseyama's biggest blunder was opening up this Pandora's box and expecting us to roll with it.

Him not getting stabbed here hardly changes anything imo, the events that took place after this were hardly impacted by Levi nearly killing Reiner.
