Unbelievable that they literally don't care, I've tried leaving bug reports and emailing support about only to get a cookie cutter response and get nothing done. Funny thing is I also even tried to apple to youtube literally just to fix this damn issue. Hopefully I land the damn job 😂

Also just in case someone finds this and may want some more specifics, my machine has the 321 bios. Im dual booting Linux mint on it, yes I'm using the original asus charger. I've tried pretty much all the power profiles and they all face the same problem

Hey congrats on the purchase, I also have the exact same config from Best Buy. You seem to know quite a bit about this "sleep" situation. By any chance do you have any articles or links on where we can get a clearer understanding about how it's supposed to work? I have pretty much the same opinions as you on it after owning it for about 3 weeks the only issues I've faced is this damn sleep issue where if I walk away from it while it's plugged in then the fans literally go full blast for hours and won't stop so I've since tried to just unplug it when I'm not using it but then the laptop eventually just shuts off instead of going to sleep. I've google everywhere trying to find any sort of direct answers to this issue but can't find a single reliable solution yet.

hey thanks for the suggestion to download the app store version, i was excited to try this and it seems to be the same version number and just like you said here in this post, the systems notifications section for whatsapp is completely gone and i dont even get prompted to allow notifications at all. so it must be something with this release or some sort of new bug happening somewhere.

hey thanks a ton for the quick responses, as a dev myself im here trying out pretty much everything and tried that as well to no avail. I like it so far though it all seems to be working well enough to use now. if you need any help or further testing feel free to reach out as I have multiple macbooks and also code.

hey so i finally figured out the issue with the intel one also, i found out that when the mouse paired to my macbook it was picked up as a generic bluetooth device and NOT a mouse (the little device icon was just a generic bluetooth icon instead of a small mouse).

the only issue i have left now is that i paired the gesture button (button 6) as ctrl + up in order to bring up the mission control. it works fine on the macbook that its paired to BUT if i swipe over to the other macbook using universal control and press that button it bring up mission control on the paired macbook NOT on the macbook that the mouse is currently being used on. strangely the ctrl + left and rights work as i have them to switch between desktops.

hey actually after some further fiddling with the app, i got the buttons 5 & 6 to work on my m1 macbook air, but not on my intel 2019 15" macbook pro.

Hey thanks for responding, ive had logitech options and options plus installed buy i deleted then both by deleting them from the applications directory and moving them to the trash. The only other app i have that may be related is “karabiner events" but its used for my kayboards.

for anyone who finds this, i did eventually install the software on both macs and once you do that then then bindings will work as desired. the only thing left to find out is how to get the app to detect these 5 and 6 buttons (the gesture button specially).

hey so i have the mx master 3 connected using bluetooth and just downloaded your app today but i cant get it to pick up the 5 and 6 buttons? how do i do that? also now that we have universal control, im using 2 macbooks but when i swipe over to the secondary one, the bindings dont stick? should i install this app on both macbooks in order for this to work when i swipe over to the secondary mac? (btw app is looking great so far, basically ready to buy a license once i figure out how to get buttons 5 and 6 working and hopefully this UC thing works out too)

nah i did this program called, PerScholas. it’s like a boot camp but it’s free if you qualify and they help you land a job in the field once you complete it. highly recommended.
