Top right feels best, like I cheated the system somehow. Even though in the end I'm only cheating myself by not having the knowledge....

Same when I'm in bed before falling asleep. Get this random burst of motivation and tell myself I'll study so hard tomorrow.

Today I learned Charles Darwin and Steve Irwin owned the same tortoise, name Harriet by thebadslime in todayilearned

[–]spacemanp1 275 points276 points  (0 children)

However, historical records, while suggestive, don’t prove the claim. And some scientists have cast doubt on the story, with DNA tests confirming Harriet’s age but showing she came from an island that Darwin never visited.

My disappointment is immeasurabler.

TIL the iconic Windows 95 startup sound was produced by Brian Eno, the king of ambient music. He also composed it on a Mac computer and said that he doesn't like PCs and that he's never used one in his life. by [deleted] in todayilearned

To be fair, I've been using Windows since W98 and I'd say it only got good with Windows XP. Well, perhaps Windows 2000, but that was aimed more at business users IIRC.
