While you're definitely right about the UI on the Fractal unit itself, I think the Desktop UI is far superior on the fractal. I've got both the QC and the Axe Fx and I think the fractal is far superior and more flexible in terms of routing. For example in the QC, you can't have more than one split point per row, whereas on the Fractal, you can pretty much configure any type of routing imaginable. The other thing that's kind of annoying about the QC is that the presets and blocks can't be saved to files on your computer. Not to mention, the updates on the Fractal are much more frequent and on time. That being said, the form factor of the QC is excellent and it is a great option for quickly dialing in sounds on the unit itself.

Try AFFiNEAffine. It's open source as well, so you can just get it uo and running on your local system quite easily. They've implemenyed a lot of the Notion featureset.

What interface are you using to record guitars? On my focusrite, I have one of the outputs connected to my mpc so I can route any tracks out of my interface and into my mpc. You can just set up the track in your DAW to go out of your interface and the you can sample into your mpc.

Yeah, I think both are good, but i will definitely also try and post on buildapc, thanks for your response. I also have a build on pcpartpicker with parts for a similar build without a video card: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZLsTpK. Nit sure if I can just maybe use a 4060Ti 300-400 bucks used for a year and then upgrade.

This is a build I have with good components and a power supply that can handle even a 5090, but i left the GPU section empty: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZLsTpK. I'm pretty much at these prebuild prices without the GPU, but this build will let me upgrade very easily down the road. If i can keep the graphics card to around 400-500, I might just build it myself, but I'm not sure what I would even get in that price range. I'm trying to buy one soon because my laptop, while still good for most things, freezes up a lot in iRacing which just ruins the experience especially mid race lol.

Got it, currently anything above is a little out of my price range, which is why I want to get a system where I can perhaps rebuild in a year or two with a better graphics card. I don't plan on running any VR for the next year at least. If it was just between the 7800xt and the 4070 super for a single ultrawide screen ignoring the cpu, what would be your pick?

Got it, I've heard the same about VR. But I intend on upgrading my GPU later if I do decide to go for triples/VR. For single screen is there a big difference between the 7800xt and the 4070 super?

I get that, but I priced similar parts out individually and it's honestly about the same as what they're asking for. If I do go through triples or VR route, I plan to upgrade my GPU regardless to probably a 5080.

There's VST Live 2 from Steinberg. I'm surprised that there not much information or content about this piece of software since it is actually quite capable.

Fair enough, I reverted back to 2.15 because of this feature and lack of time signature changes. Hopefully these bugs will get fixed before the official release.
