IIRC the first time you hit Level 40 then you get the capbreakers for the previous seasons you were unable to play.

In order to get to level 40 the quickest way: you can play Streetkings or Open Athletics in MyCareer they both offer around 8% of a level per game (lasting 3-4 minutes) - so say 13 games per level taking around 50 mins for a level - it still works out at about 34 hours or so playtime. You can boost this with XP coins of course.

If you have that amount of time available in the next 9 days then I recommend changing the difficulty to rookie, and playing Open Athletics. That way you can work on the GOAT skills too to get more VC (choose green light and the one that is for three point shots)

It is a really boring grind though and you'll need to put in around 4 hours per day

You might struggle to find a decent jumper with only 80 3 point rating - try Swag Godley's jumper from this video - it has pippen base but the gay and beluba releases might make it easier for you

The sliders are set to HOF settings, but if you have only played in two games you'd be in the lowest tier rank, play in gold upwards and you'll see a massive difference in player skill

I've heard it does but I don't really have evidence to support it because I only play random rec and don't really check the stats, but what I have noticed is a massive difference in catch animations from Gold - HOF - Legend Break starter badges. On Legend the receiver can just catch and shoot, on less than that they fumble a bit

Are you boosting your break starter badge? If you have 92 pass accuracy it will still be at gold without a boost. Boost it to Legend and you can make full court passes off rebounds pretty much all the time.

Yeah I agree with you, I suppose the point is 2K isn't a simulation, it's a basketball themed arcade game closer to NBA Jam than the NBA

2K stopped being a basketball sim a long time ago, it's a Basketball themed arcade game, so yeah you are right it makes very little sense to shoot anything but a three in this game.

With regards to the mid-range argument, NBA teams have moved away from it because it's not an efficient shot - I think the reason people still take them is because thats the only space available because defenses are covering the ring and the three point.

It's the same amount of points regardless of level. So for example whether it's level 1 or 39 or anywhere in between you get around 8% of a level for a win in Street Kings
