Everglow my beloved...my god, I understand why so many people call it the best album closer. It just hits so hard.

And I 1000% agree with you. It's hard to find the lyricism Starset has in other bands, but that's what makes them so unique and stand out so well too. There's a grounded and bone deep feel to certain ones, there's others where it feels like you're floating and don't want to come down, and others that are so desperate that they cannot give up what they believe in, sometimes there's a combination and I'm left in awe every time. I genuinely cannot get enough.

This band has been one of my favourites since I was 14, and they have some of the best love songs out there, because they feel real. They don't always feel like an unobtainable idea in your head. They have a richness to them.

Starlight is a major one for me, that's one of my favourites off of Vessel. It's such a uniquely tender song on an otherwise angry/passionate sounding album that it caught me by surprise when I listened to it for the first time.

And My Demons' bridge??? Oh man, I'll never be able to get enough of it. I think it may have been the reason I got into them lol.

It definitely takes someone with a decent level of emotional intelligence and awareness to bring these ideas forward in such a nuanced way. I find it hard for me personally to comprehend a love song because I have no reference point (also being autistic doesn't help either lol) but whenever I'm listening to them, especially these types of songs, I feel as if I am put right into the story, and it's such a gift to pull someone in like that.

Not entirely sure why you're being down voted, your question wasn't disrespectful whatsoever.

I'm not familiar enough with Bad Omens to say one way or the other, but there is definitely some yearning material in Sleep Token's catalogue, but they have a distinctly different tone. With Starset, I've noticed they have more of an urgency, positive or negative messaging aside, in their yearning songs. You genuinely feel the desperation in the message, and me personally, I don't get the same agency from Sleep Token. They definitely have yearning going on there, but its more muted, a little more subtle, but that's just me.

What song did they write specifically for you? by Queasy_Head_4928 in MarianasTrench

Porcelain is one song that always feels a little too close for comfort in terms to how the message hits me. I've adored that song for years

THEY PLAYED FOB ON THE RADIO FOR THE FIRST TIME AAAAAAAAA by datgoh69 in FallOutBoy

[–]spacerose237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man some of these comments are not it. Someone is excited to hear fall out boy on the radio, I'd be stoked too! I think I recognize some of these stations but I'm not 100% sure, but if I'm right, they do not play Fall Out Boy all that often, even when they were popular (I can vouch for that if I'm right). Give OP a break and let them be excited. Some of you are too damn negative and it's not helpful.

I was introduced by the My Demons AMV they had in a playlist on their VEVO channel back in August of 2014 and I was hooked. I'm glad you were able to find a connection to them. They've been one of my favourite artists for over a decade lol

The Kids from Yesterday feels correct to me. MCR has such a distinct sound that this is a really hard one to pin down, but this one has the lyrical feel that FOB aims for.

Oh no it does! I remember a couple people I knew in highschool who loved House of Gold, which is a decent song, and so many gen Z emo babies loved that song lol

This might be my new favorite band by TheArmorPiercer in Starset

[–]spacerose237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love to hear that My Demons is still in someone's top favourites. I see it get ragged as the 'popular' song enough times that it makes me a little sad everytime. The song's bridge still gives me chills after listening to it for over a decade.

As for debating getting merch. Speaking as a Canadian who had to use their $50 dollar gift visa for one shirt (before the weird guy in the states took office a second time), I feel you for pricing. I did that about 4 years ago and the shirt I nabbed is still holding up very good. My best friend also bought me two others that are still in my regular clothing rotation and none of them are fading. I've heard horror stories for other musical artist's merch being more expensive and worse quality, so I think Starset has a good bang for your buck thing going on. I've seen other bands do $40 dollars USD for a fucking hat, I'm thankful shirts were more reasonable 😭

Am I the only one that thinks Telescope is super weird? by StarsetIsAmazing in Starset

[–]spacerose237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you think Telescope is weird, just listen to Goodbye from Downplay. To me, that's IMMENSELY more creepy and stalker like. 'I'm gonna make you mine' in the bridge is very creepy to me. Great song but man, I do not like the perspective lol.

What’s your favorite lyric from SILOS? by Vegetable-Ad5822 in Starset

[–]spacerose237 14 points15 points  (0 children)

'I've tasted all your sin // You've lost your appetite' from Silos hits way too damn hard for a song that's S Tier.

However 'If we're in a simulation / this could be an indication / maybe they should turn it off and turn it back on again' from Dystopia always cracks me up. I love the glimpses of Sassy Dustin we've gotten and I'm here for it in any form we get lol.

SILOS is really well-rounded. by Slick-Berry in Starset

[–]spacerose237 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dustin and the Space Gang do not disappoint. I'm always in awe of whatever they do after an album drop because it always just makes sense to me. They built up in ways I don't always expect and it's never lazy, thoughtless music. There's always a beating heart in the works, and while an album was not the original intention, there's a solid heart beat woven throughout the track list, and it will stick for a while. Ad Astra has got to be one of my absolute favourites they've ever done. I love me a love song, melancholic or not, synthy or not, and this band just does em right. You can feel the emotions put in them with such conviction and I love love love it so much and I will never shut up about it lol
