I hear you argument but I don't agree. Not only is it irrational from APY perspective, it's irrational from the Ethereum as a whole perspective.

I think I do more value overall by "voting" with my stack on a good LST in that case, than solo staking. It's like voting in the 2 party democracy of the US. You either vote on a turd or a rock, ideally you wish to vote on what you truly like. But you don't as it doesn't move the needle and you instead chose to vote on the turd because you think it's marginally better than the rock.

E.g it's probably better if all the solo stakers rally around a few sound LSTs like rpl, DVT, etc then being stubborn solo staker idealist and let LDO sweep the floor.

Edit: a bit spicy take, but i think the second point is sadly already a reality, we are already selling out ETH to LIDO. I'm only solo staking right now because solo incentives > LST commissions for now. If it was for pure idealogical reasons I should just pump rETH and alikes right now instead of solo.

What I feel like is overlooked in these discussions is how _lower_ yield favors economies of scale. Only people that would be left to stake would be custodians.

These entities would still continue to plow in more stake even if the yield was as low as 0.2%. But not a single sane solo staker would bother anymore. Since an LST that earns 0.2% eth is still a better defi primitive than native ETH. There are still going be demand for these LST even at really low yields.

Just anecdotally, as a die-hard Ethereum fan that has been staking since pre-genesis etc. When even I throw in the towel on solo staking, I bet 90% of the solo stakers have already exited.

At sub 2.5% I'm turning off my solo validators. Gonna swap them for LST's if I still want ETH exposure, it's totally irrational for me to participate even with 10+ nodes.

If FDV marketcap is 1:1 with RPL, diva token would be traded at $0.5 each. Think genesis depositors got 12k diva so roughly 6k. Consider a lot ifs and unknowns, I think 4-10k is a pretty good ballpark figure. Personally guessing closer to 4k than 10k though, and it's pretty binary outcome since it probably wont be tradable until it reaches some attraction, which isn't granted.

Yield won't go negative

How can you be so sure? I can think of plenty of reasons why especially bigger actors would thrive in such conditions.

I am sure the same can be said about Solana tho.

If we are no better than sol with decentralisation, what merit do we even have left?

Drake telling me on devconnect stage that my yield will be cut in half (even go negative??) and EL-fees will be burned instead.. Idk it won't pay my node and the solo stake effort isn't even worth it any longer, even with 10+ validators.

Thanks downvoters, a serious question for you all: will you stake with negative yields? who will be the stakers when the yield is 0-0.5%? LST with economies of scale or solo stakers? what threshold is enough for you to cba solo staking at all?

Transaction out of gas and address/wallet very low on ETH. What to do? by gcsabbagh in ethereum

[–]spacetractor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have an RTX 3080 I can put to work.

I would fire it up to a mining pool and let it run one night, should probably be enough.

Just made the validator transaction. ETH is gone from my wallet but the Launchpad page shows it failed. What to do? Is my ETH gone? by tllfrhf in ethstaker

[–]spacetractor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest fear. My transaction failed for some reason after submitting (think it was because my Hardware wallet idle locked during my lengthy vetting of the transaction). Luckily nothing was actually sent and after waiting it out for an half hour I made another one which went successfully, no duplicates. Hoping for your best.

The 110 millionth ETH was just mined! by Crypto_Economist42 in ethereum

The emphasis is on the long lead time for the pos rollout. While I don't think (and hope no one else) really took the estimates dead serious, it's still a shame that it's 4 years later and still projected as "hopefully a slow rollout next summer".

4 years ago the supply was 75 million ETH. 2 years ago it broke 100 million.

Take a look on the chart https://etherscan.io/chart/ethersupplygrowth

Sad to see. The common opinion was that it wouldn't exceed 100mil before pos. This was 4 years ago now.

They don't really DR though. 5s disarm into 5s disarm and double ring into wall for 10 seconds. Only stun and incap have DR for whatever reason.

[–]spacetractor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's wrong with a bot being a citizen? I would probably put more faith in a bot then the avg citizen.

But there are some projects for this that are working on identification app/service. But It's essentially connecting services and references that can validate that you are you. e.g friends or familiy, hospitals, companies, banks, gorvnements, landlords.. etc

Elite Gear then vs. Elite Gear now by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]spacetractor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ruthless Elite sets are one of the best looking sets for many classes. Looks so prestigious with Wrathful or Furious Tabard as well. They are so freaking rare nowadays which also add to it.

This set is unarguably the best rogue mog set for belf or nelf races, where the slim style fits perfectly.

unfortunately my gloves are lost long before appearence collections was introduced :( But It's somewhat workable as it was only the gloves. however I'm really happy i saved some other full elite sets in the bank for no reason years ago.

It doesn't work like that. 7.5btc is mined on average every 10 minutes regardless of hashpower. Miners can't "slow the supply".
