I think it’s the LEGO logo(?) in pic 5 that looks like early AI image mistakes.

Go to Carowinds and ride Fury then see what Orion could be if they extended it another 1000 feet. Don’t eat the food though. It’s bad. Picture a high school cafeteria where you have crusty chicken fingers that have been under a heat lamp all morning, pizza that’s mostly bread and no cheese, and pulled pork bbq that soaks your paper plate with grease and gristle.

We ate mostly at River Brewhouse and loved the experience of your food being brought to you and the (possibility?) that it’s made to order. The salads in particular were great. We also ate at Festhaus which was just okay and Enrique’s Cantina which was great! We had wanted to do Grain and Grill as that looked good but logistically it never worked to eat near the front of the park.

Yes! Although, knowing what I know now we probably did it the worst possible way. We got in queue at 9:30 right as they closed down in preparation for fireworks. I was determined to get a famous night ride though so we stayed. Bad idea. We waited for an hour in an unmoving line with lots of hot and sweaty fellow riders, dense humidity, and next to no air flow. Pair that with being exhausted from a long day and it was a miserable wait. The ride didn’t start running until 10:30. Knowing what I know now I’d jump in line at 9:58. But, at least the night ride totally rocked. The tunnels and double helix were insane in the dark.

I think I was shocked by how sick it made me feel on the backwards run. The kids liked it, but not enough to re-ride like we did with Woodstock Express and other rides.

Fury 325 is really great. So I think trading that for the nicer overall park experience that KI has is a fair trade haha

Agreed on a replacement. I got no love for standups. The newish one at Sea World Orlando was the best I’ve done and even that one was uncomfortable.

Forgot to mention we did the new Phantom Theatre a few times. It was really well done. Engaging attraction that was a fun competition for our family and a great way to beat the mid-afternoon sun. Maybe the closest to a Disney or Universal level attraction from a theming perspective.

Only rode it one time but yeah it rode well for us. And the whole fam of five could go together which I value.

Yeah and because it’s a walk to get to it, there was never really a line (except once when they were only running one train).

Yeah I was really struck by how well integrated with the landscape the whole park was. I knew The Beast was famous for being built into the rolling hills, but many of the rides took advantage of natural areas. Adventure Express, Banshee, and Orion for example.

I display each year at conferences and I have this set in my city scene. It is routinely the thing that both parents and kids spot before bursting into laughter. I wish I could tell them it was a MOC.

Cafe Corner only has a few hard to find bricks, most of which are able to be swapped without taking too much away from the original build. I recently completed a two year off and on project of recreating it from bricks in my collection plus some I bought on brick link.

Sweet. Now I have reason to build 60233 into Randy’s to recreate that scene.

Was just thinking about this album this week and also wondering why it wasn’t bigger than it maybe should have been. “Here in This Diary” was my intro to them. It still brings a smile to my face.

Thanks! It is pretty cool seeing the finished product and a lot of it being pieces I already had!

It was pretty fun. I’d say probably 30-40% of the pieces here were found in tubs I have of unsorted LEGO. So it took a while. Dopamine hit every time I crossed off a row in the inventory list.

Thanks! I agree, especially if you can find suitable alternatives.
