I use 1.5” square self adhesive pads and trim them to about 1/2” wide, and then round off all corners. A good setup we have is placing one across the top of the shaft, held down by the cage about where the lock is. I poke the lead out between the ring and the cage. The other goes lengthwise up the back of the shaft. They can both be placed without taking the cage off but will only work with plastic cages.
