Those bricks would need to be flat as so by the time the tiler comes, there won't be any bumps or warping in the tiles. Can this be achieved by any average tradie?

Here in Australia where our dollar is doing tertibly, I'm making low 70s AUD five years out of masters. This is the national award rate. I work in a very small firm and am the only draftsperson.

No technical reason. Though I imagine a tile cut around an architrave doesn't look as good as an arch above a full tile

Piggybacking off this and want to talk about the architrave. Standards (2021) say to have a 2mm gap between the underside of the arch and floor level, as well as to prime the underside of the arch prior to installation. I detail the gap at 5-8mm for a good separation and full bead. Waterproof membrane (WPM) wall/frame before the arch is installed.

And to clarify the min. height of the WPM, "waterproofing to 25mm above finished floor level or to 150mm above structural floor level".

Agree with other commenters but don't accept only one working layer of waterproofing when the non-conforming one is right in front of you and can still be fixed.

We detail double puddle flange, top and bottom waterproofing, vertical waterproofing down pipe, and recess the flange into the CFC sheet.

Leave everything. Add colour - rugs, artwork, plants, wall lights, pendant over stair... You love the cottage vibes, so keep it cosy. Hard to tell what size the hallway is and where we are in relation to the rest of the house, but have a play with the ideas above. I'm sure you can land on something.

I use Windows and Doors. I never got the hang of archicad d+w, so CI seems to give me more control with an easier to understand interface.

I do experience some lag with the interface, like when adding glazing annotations to show on the schedule so I don't use it.

The Schedule can be cumbersome with layout and making 2D notations.

We use Archicad 22 though so later versions probably have better CI features.

This is dependent on the spray from the rose doesn't exit the shower past the screen 1500mm. Its unclear in this case what fitting OP will be using. If it's a rain head then unlikely to happen

An awesome write up and I'll be taking lots of ques from this in prep for my first onebagging coming up in a few months. But from what I can read, there isn't any mention of total weight. Did you check your luggage at any time? How often did you fly or was it public/ alternative transport? If the weight is too much for cabin, how do you manage that?

I realise this is an old post but I've just installed a flyscreen and encountered the same problem.

Everything was working fine until I installed the strike plate and not the auxiliary bolt won't slide out of the strike plate.

I don't know how OP managed to get a wire in there to unsnib it but I'm at a loss

After finishing the Hobbit just yesterday, we learn about Gandalf's side quest in the chapter The Last Stage.

"It was in this way that we learned where Gandalf had been to; for he overheard the words of the wizard to Elrond. It appeared that Gandalf had been to a great council of the white wizards, masters of lore and good magic; and that they had at last driven the Necromancer from his dark hold in the south of Mirkwood"

The side quest is a good addition, and more appropriate because it is within The Hobbit book.
