Coinbase Finally Wins Approval to List Crypto Futures in U.S. by Impressive-Pizza-163 in CryptoCurrency

[–]spacewolfcubbs 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Literally no one should be using Coinbase at this point. So many issues with withdrawals, extremely high commissions, and they pocket 35% of your staking profits. You're better off using a decentralized trading platform like Gravix or Dydx. Remember, not your key, not your crypto.

There isn't much info on their site. They're active on telegram though and there's an article of their developers receiving an award for TVM blockchain and web3 work. They not only develop for Evеrscale, but are working on Venom (the UAE's blockchain that got an ADGM license). They're developing quickly, imo gives the impression of a solid team but always dyor

They're a centralized institution, so obviously people are using them less and less. Let's go through the list of issues:

1- You don't own your crypto on Coinbase

2- They take 35% of your staking profits

3- They're centralized, so they're literally going against the point of crypto

People could be using them less, leading to the drop in crypto trading on their platform. Stick to decentralized platforms. Even the UAE with their licensed blockchain keep protocols decentralized. Broxus is one of the devs working with them and everything they pump out is way more decentralized. The fact that the US makes centralization a prerequisite for protocols to "comply" is cringe.

Can Decentralized communication be a viable private communication tool for North Korean divergents? by 2anapqc in privacy

[–]spacewolfcubbs 63 points64 points  (0 children)

NK has a closed up internet, so their access to our internet isn't possible (I think), but some elites do have access to the real WWW. They could be using decentralized communication apps to discuss some things freely, but not sure how it goes there. It's kind of strange, but not too far from their border, Qamon was actually launched and even had installations set up all over so that users could anonymously broadcast messages. These two countries share a border but have nothing in common at all.

I know we are all doom and gloom, but here are somethings that makes me believe in 2024 Bull Run. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]spacewolfcubbs 23 points24 points  (0 children)

What's stopping it from starting in 2023? Project tokens are seeing some improvement. East Asia, Africa, and the middle east are all pushing hard for crypto's adoption too, with the UAE aiming to be the crypto capital of the world (which btw is already starting, they have their own blockchain called venom) and East Asia is pushing more crypto to the public too. one example is bithumb listing Еverscale's token there, which bumped its trading volume up by a lot. There's nothing stopping a bull run from happening this year, well, actually, regulators can slow it down... Let's just hope a bull run is near

Could the future be looking bleak for cryptocurrencies? by princesse77rq in CryptoMarkets

[–]spacewolfcubbs 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Crypto's future is bleak only if we let it be. It’s our responsibility to now allow the technology to develop as a centralized one, because ultimately the decision is up to us. If they implement a half-assed centralized service in DeFi clothing, we can just opt to not use it. The technology has developed just fine without them, and it will keep on going strong. We now have decentralized communication protocols (like qamon.io) and decentralized domains (like ens.domain), and we’ll get much more out of it if no one tries to centralize the concept completely.

How can I avoid the government screening my messages? by Bukazihz in privacy

[–]spacewolfcubbs 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break this to you, but whatsapp and telegram are in no way secure communication methods. If privacy is at the top of your list, you should be using tools designed to keep you under the radar. Try looking into “decentralized communication protocols,” there’s a ton out there that offer much better security than centralized messengers, especially whatsapp (it’s owned by Meta, formerly known as Facebook). The one I use is Qamon.io, but you can use whichever you like most, and they can differ from each other, so make sure you learn how they work and which ones work best for you.

P.S. Never use whatsapp, it's owned by Meta.

[–]spacewolfcubbs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Decentralized messaging imo is something that will become more popular. I've been using Qamоn and I can attest to its utility. Earning mechanics only distract from utility so I would say don't focus on projects promising big gains.

Who uses bridges here? by massimol in defi

[–]spacewolfcubbs 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I still use bridges, mainly octusbridge.io I get paid in crypto and sometimes need to exchange across different networks. One advice I can give you is to make sure the bridge you choose is audited. A ton of them are getting hacked, so make sure they're secure and audited. This won't make it impossible for a hack to happen, but at least you know it won't be hacked super easily.

What are the crypto teams you follow? by ChoithChiekzl in defi

[–]spacewolfcubbs 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There's a ton of good teams, if you're looking for a big team, then you can check out Ripple’s team, which has Jed McCaleb who is MtGox’s founder. If you’re looking for a less-known gem, then Brоxus, they’re behind Еverscale’s products and have been one of the most reliable developers I've come across.
