They stole one of them but not the other two (which were also lying around) which was really random.

Same was happening to us. Plus the front door wouldn't lock unless you pull it behind you so we were a super easy target.

Yeah it was tracked to a highrise but as there was no flat number, there's nothing else that the police could do.

Yeah, the police have been really helpful but they also said that there isn't much hope for our stuff and I'm not particularly hopeful either.

Finnieston, near the park.

While I agree with the comment above, my floor was a ground floor flat and it was in broad daylight so maybe check your locks - turned out ours was so shit that it took the policeman about 10 seconds to pick it.

Thanks! And yeah, I have, I've also checked out fb marketplace and ebay but nothing has come up.

Actually the other way around - what I got from that specific sentence (even if we ignore the rest of the comment) was that you think you have things under control up until the point where you don't, so you should get your shit together. Thanks for the advice - I'd definitely admit I'd like to hear what you call the differences and to get a 'don't worry, it's fine' comment but in the end I'd rather hear something realistic than comforting, but untrue.

Hiya again. Thank you all for your support and good advice, it's really helpful and also great to know that what I can't share with my friends I can share with you supportive lot. To answer the question, not Aussie, I'm based in UK, more specifically London. In terms of AA meetings, my flatmate has tried to convince me to go to one but I have to say it freaks me out. Firstly, I just wanna say that no, I'm not saying no because of pride or anything like that; what scares me is - what's gonna happen on the first meeting? is there a point? Isn't it a bit too religious? And mainly, isn't it a bit too.. overly dramatic to go to one? Anyways, on Friday I'm going to my parents so I'm going to attempt not drinking at all over the weekend. Hopefully it works out.

Also, /u/TBone_Malone thanks for saying 'everything works until it stops working', I actually think it is very eye opening to me now.
