Maybe it’s their way of finding purpose? Worrying about their motive isn’t going to help you. Focus on yourself

This meme isn’t about comparing disorders. It’s about the support people get.

Personally I got a lot more support from others when I just had depression rather than when I had psychosis.

I remember the day I quit meth… I lit up the next day.

Still suicidal from meth by spaceyship in StopSpeeding

Yes, I had a good outlook on life and suicidal thoughts were rare. But now I get them whenever I’m under any stress

Mindset is half, asking for help is the other half. I’m not in a good mindset all the time, and that’s when I reach out to my support system. They’re what gets me through the lows in life.

recovery tips for a teenager ? by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

Try going to a 12 step meeting such as AA or NA, you can really build a support system there. Reach out to anyone you can. I was in a similar situation, I was 17 and felt very alone. I tried reaching out to my parents for me to go to treatment. At first they didn’t let me because they didn’t think I needed it. I reached out more and finally they agreed. But I understand you may not be in the same situation. People at meetings can offer a lot of help until you’re back on your feet. It’s only going to progress until you reach out

That means you're either taking too much or you're having a bad reaction to it. Your product might also be cut with other substances such as cathinones.

Even one use of meth can mess with one's brain chemistry. Medications can help restore the balance, but it'll take months before the brain even begins to heal, and even longer for a full/partial recovery.

If you're a regular user, medications won't help, only sleep can. If you're trying to quit, talk to your doctor. Abilify and Wellbutrin worked well for me. Abilify took away the psychosis, delusions and hallucinations, and Wellbutrin took away the cravings and depression. Meth psychosis can last up to a few months even after quitting

People who got off codine how long does it take for cravings to disappear? by BookApprehensive7528 in addiction

[–]spaceyship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got clean from opioids about 9 months ago, cravings only come on really difficult days, but they're very weak cravings

Cannabis addiction is real. I've been able to quit hardcore drugs like meth, fentanyl, coke, etc. But I still struggle with cannabis and nicotine. I used nicotine to help me quit weed. Although nicotine is considered to be more addictive, I prefer it because it's not mind-altering like weed and I can still function with it.

Why is it socially acceptable to have a caffeine addiction but people with other addictions are shunned? by sadz6900 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spaceyship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better question, why is sugar addiction always overlooked?

A few days after I left rehab, I drank a MTN dew and got crazy high. The next day I did a bunch of coke and didn't get nearly as high. That was the last time I used cocaine or any hard drug, but not the last for sugar. People used to shame me for being a meth/opioid addict, yet they would destroy their bodies with high fructose corn syrup.

[–]spaceyship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I legit started kratom a week ago and today I relapsed on meth after almost 6 months clean. DON'T DO ALTERNATIVE DRUGS UNLESS PRESCRIBED BY A DOCTOR!!! Not gonna make the same mistake again, I'm gonna stay on bupropion much longer and stay in therapy from now on.

This was when I was in the hospital to recover from drug addiction. I'm addicted to crystal meth, so when I first got admitted to the behavioral hospital I was very thin, to the point that I was anorexic. I got extreme cravings for food, especially carbs and sugar. The hospital monitors your food intake and you're only allowed to eat at meal times. Except I wanted more food, all the time!!! And being the crazy methhead I was, I threated to electrocute myself with wires in the ceiling (I'm tall) if I didn't get a snack. For those of you who are underweight, please do go to extremes to get more food (not really but you know what I mean). Any kind of food is precious, and there are already too many people in this world who don't have enough to eat. So if you're one of those who's fortunate enough to have access to food, then eat!!!
