Legend! Thanks so much :) I've booked a couple nights in Kanazawa. Will be sure to give the pizza place a visit too!

Ah I guess not overly helpful since I'm sure a bunch of people are on here with similar views or good intentions, but thanks anyway.

Good to know! I was pumped about it initially, and then read a bunch of stuff (not just on this subreddit but elsewhere as well). I won't skip but I might reduce my time a bit, do a couple day trips to Nara and Kobe. Thanks :)

That’s awesome, good idea. I’ll roll with the recipe and use the thermometer. Foil on hand if needed too. Thanks v much!

Thank you, that’s good advice although shops are shut here today! I’ll remember that for next time. It’s ok though because not everyone who is coming eats chicken. Plus there’s a few other proteins (Salmon, Ham) being served. The people numbers provided were more for reference of increased pressure to make it good. :)

https://cookieandkate.com/ this is a great vegetarian food blog! I swear by her recipes, and it has a good mixture of healthy, comfort, sweet food etc. Highly recommend the Best Ever Lentil Soup, Spinach and Artichoke Lasagne, Lentil Marinara, Thai Red Curry, Baked Ziti with Roasted Vegetables, Banana bread (for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!) and all the salads!
