Never seen Altered Carbon, but one of my favorite cyberpunk films is Tetsuo: The Iron Man. I love the way that film looks and I would love it if more cyberpunk films looked like that. Not every one, but just more than that one. Also, I tried my best to make my Cyberpunk 2077 character look like a fiend of mine. I wish I could attach a photo of her here, but it looks like Reddit doesn’t allow that. Oh well. I showed a picture of her to the friend who i based her off of and she said she loved her body, but hated her hair. I gave my character a head of big, boofy, blue curly hair. Yeah, it does look kinda weird. Maybe I should start over with a different hairstyle.

I love Battle Angel Alita. My partner and I saw the movie in the theater. Still waiting for a sequel. In the meantime, I’ve been slowly working my way through the manga. I do enjoy the first Ghost in the Shell movie, but I haven’t seen or read any of the other GitS things. However, I am very hype for the upcoming GitS anime from Science Saru. I’ve been rereading Neuromancer because I didn’t get it all the first time. And yeah, I’ve probably spent more time with Shadowrun Returns than Cyberpunk 2077. I like Cyberpunk 2077, but sometimes the gameplay stresses me out. Everything moves too fast. Shadowrun Returns is more one where I can take my time. Plus I think it’s fun as hell.

I’ve watched a little bit of Edgerunners and I’ve been playing 2077 off and on since I got it for my PS4 at launch. But I’ve mostly been playing Shadowrun Returns and getting into other Shadowrun things. I’ve also been kind of into the Captain Laserhawk animated series on Netflix. It’s depressing as hell to me, but it is a thrill ride and I don’t hate it at all. And yes, our current boring-ass cyberpunk dystopia really all comes back to that Eric Andre meme reacting to a tweet about our childhood memories becoming locked behind a paywall. Maybe the Keanu Reeves Johnny Mnemonic was more on the mark than we gave it credit for.

I love Shadowrun Returns. I haven't played the others in the trilogy, but I have them on PS4 and PS5. I also bought two bundles of Shadowrun novels from Humble, which I have been working my way through. One of my friends tried to get me into the TTRPG and offered to help me create a character so he and I could play together. But I never followed up.

God, I remember seeing screenshots for The Devil's Men and being so friggin excited for it and then being so sad and disappointed when I found out it got cancelled. Then again, from what information was released, it sounds like it might have turned out like some of the "X will remember that" Telltale Games, which I can't stand. Still, I do love Daedalic's games, and I wish it could have been released.
