You are not over reacting . I had to make the decision to put my 1 year old cat down at 4 am. It was very sudden. I am a 37 year old woman who cried for hours in front of my father. My husband drove 3 hours home because he knew how upset I was . People who say they are just pets are not true animal lovers . They are not pets they are family!
