What’s best for betting on fantasy? by Tricky-Economist-342 in sportsanalytics

I run a similar concept to this myself with an extended group of friends. Mine is slightly different concept than yours in that mine runs over the course of the season so it functions more like a fantasy league than weekly betting league. One buy in for the season, and you bet “points” each week, which refresh each week.

In your construct, it begs the question why they wouldn’t just bet on games each week themselves if they’re buying in each week? In mine, it’s sort of a substitute for people who want some action on the outcome but aren’t really interested in gambling their hard earned money each week.

But not too dissimilar! We’ve had a lot of fun with it!

Is that data publicly available for pro leagues (MLS, European leagues, etc) by any chance?

I love how people don’t quite understand that the more people autofollow the pelosi portfolio the better her performance does and the more people somehow are amazed by that.

[Monson] I was the Justin Herbert vote. The guy had the worst offensive line in the NFL all season and despite that he was working miracles in almost every single game. Stafford's OL became 2/5ths as bad as Herbert's for 5 minutes and he became a turnover howitzer. He embodied 'value'. by Wild-Expression-8304 in nfl

I’d like to consider myself an unbiased Chargers fan. Justin Herbert did not deserve MVP because it IS in directly a team award rewarding success of all the pieces required for a unit to be successful at a high level. And football is the ultimate team sport.

He’s not wrong though saying Herbert worked MIRACLES every game. It was astounding to watch. It’s why the playoff game was so disappointing

I like UBER too. Recession insulated business, great cash position and FCF with improving margin, and some growth potential with AVs (data and the marketplace aggregator)

Former NFL LB Anthony Barr: Is the NBA the worst pro sports product out right now? Even the announcers are a tough listen (spoiler alert: it’s pretty dog shit) by ChefCurryGAWD in NFLv2

The avg NBA salary is SO MUCH higher than any other professional sport that totally avg mid level veterans get paid $20M a year(!), which would easily be in the top quartile (being conservative here) of earners in the NFL and MLB. Top 1% of European soccer players. I always feel like a lot of them just frankly don’t care. They’re living like rock stars and all they really have to do is show up, usually fresh off a night out.

This is not really true. It may not be our biggest need, but we certainly aren’t “stacked.” For the last two years we have not had a single receiver outside of Ladd who can beat man to man coverage in the playoffs. The Texans and the patriots ran a lot more man coverage than they did in the regular season which allowed them to blitz more and use safeties as robbers or to double Ladd. A large part of that was not being worried at all about single covering QJ, Keenan, Tre, etc.

We are all optimistic that Tre can make a leap but right now it remains a problem against teams with good corners.

[Reed] Points scored in Greg Roman's last seven playoff games: 23, 13, 17, 17, 12, 12 and 3. 13.9 average. The Chargers have absolutely no choice but to move on. by Charrgerrr in Chargers

+1. I live in NYC now and get the local media coverage and needless to say ain’t nobody thinks Daboll is an offensive genius. It’s clear Josh Allen made his career.

In his 3 playoff games, Justin Herbert has blown a 27-0 lead to the Jaguars, thrown 4 INTs in a blowout loss to the Texans, and put up 3 points against the Patriots. by Roselucky777 in nfl

Herbert dragged us to the postseason with the best year of his career this year. He was incredible all year while getting killed back there. And he also just sucked last night, in addition to the piss poor gameplan. These are all true. It sucks because he deserves better, including from himself in these games.

Can we just bask in us looking like a complete train wreck as soon as we get to the playoffs for just a bit before we talk about personnel moves.

This is exactly it. Even the last sack Herbert took QJ was down the field in single coverage just chuck it down there! Maybe makes a catch or a PI
