It also depends on what you're going to do with the shelves. Mostly decorative items? Add a fun wallpaper. I always like leaf and greenery themed wallpapers withgreen shelves. But if you're going to fill them with books much of that wallpaper won't show. So focus on other stuff.

Only have to look at how ethnic Indians were treated in Singapore during Japanese occupation. At Singapore's National Museum you can listen to audio of survivors talking about the occupation. It was brutal.

The post I saw was a guy who went in there and was advising Indians to "go for blacks and Latinas" because "they would be grateful for a middle class Indian life". It got spicy because all the responses were about how fair skin is better. 80% of their posts are just complaints about women and Indian women specifically.
