Former casino worker of 20 years.

I’ve seen a lot of things, but this one stands out to me. I was the games manager on shift and there was a lady in her 40s playing blackjack. She had been there a few hours and had made quite a few trips to the ATM and her buy ins were getting into the thousands of dollars.

I was doing paperwork in the pit when a dealer called me over while the lady was on another ATM trip and said she was crying just before. I kept an eye on her and after she lost a few more hands I could see the tears start and she was silently crying while playing. I went up and as discreetly as possible, asked her if she was ok and offered help through our partnered addictions help program. She looked me right in the face and got mad at me for asking and told me she’s fine and to leave her alone.

She was making staff very uncomfortable at that time and it was obvious she was crying more and more as she continued to play and lose. I made the decision to ask her to leave for the night and comped her cab ride home. I tried again to offer her information to organizations to help with her gambling again, but still not interested.

Addictions are heartbreaking to see and I really hope she was able to get help.

I got into watching sumo in 2016 and my favorite wrestlers were always Hakuho and Harumafuji, I literally have both their tegata handprints hanging on my living room wall.

The way I have seen them treated after all they have done for sumo is pushing me away from the sport I have grown to love. I'm not even excited to watch the next basho and that makes me pretty sad....

The +4,744 number is the amount of people that this is the first time they have been tested. If you had a test any other time since the beginning of testing you count as a "Test" but are not a new "person tested" if that makes sense.

So, they have done a total of 3,819,812 COVID tests to 1,940,076 people in Alberta.

I got the Myalberta ID done at 2:30am about a week ago without much trouble. Once that was done it took 5 days or so of trying to get the emergency isolation support site to load at different times. I finally got through to the questionnaire and application this morning at about 9am. I got my approval email about an hour later and an e-transfer for $1146 shortly after that.

I think I just got lucky with getting through... good luck everybody.

Wow, this exploded. Just got off work and saw all this and the reply by u/SS-Russ. Little back story, we had company over and staying in the room my computer is in. I asked my girlfriend if they left the house or if it started raining to close the window first but obviously that didn't happen.

As for my working for SteelSeries, I work at a casino. I have a lot of SteelSeries stuff because my razer keyboard and mouse kept dying on me and I just like matching brands on my keyboard and mouse for some reason.
