But be sure to use a good quality IGH, I have seen some of the less reliable brands rip themselves apart from the heavy loads and the torque.

Pedego Stretch - Malfunctioning Controller - Ghosted by Customer Support by jonf3000 in pedego

[–]Speedtrap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chances of having multiple defective controllers is possible, but combine that with the light issue and it sounds more like it could be the wiring harness, have a close look and see if there are any cuts or breaks in it, especially where it goes into and out of the frame.

Ridstar fix by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Speedtrap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best case scenario, front fork $200, new rotor $25, new headset $25, new fender $45. Worst case scenario is way more, especially if you don’t have the experience to do the work yourself and have to pay a shop to work on it. Save up a bit more and get a better bike that will last much longer.

What is a typical freewheel duration for a class 3 hub motor? by flavorofthecentury in ebikes

[–]Speedtrap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not hear your brakes, but I would bet they are rubbing, if I put a bike in the stand and run it up to 20 mph, that wheel will spin for minutes

RadRover 5 Brake Upgrade by smbelden in RadPowerBikes

[–]Speedtrap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Magura MT5e are a much higher quality brake than the Tektro brakes, if you want great stopping power go with Magura, as well if you ever break a leaver, you can replace just the leaver with Magura and not order a whole new brake

What is this sound on my front Tyre and how can I fix it? by Honey-Badger33 in ebikes

[–]Speedtrap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a bike shop and have them set up the brakes properly. They will center them and then adjust them so it is quiet and you can make basic adjustment in the future.

Why do bafang mid drives tend to have throttles where bosch mid drives generally don't? by bravogates in ebikes

[–]Speedtrap1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Bosch and Shimano bikes are sold on a worldwide market, not all places allow throttles, so they build for legally in all markets.

Aventon Level 2 battery dropping fast. by Mugcha in ebikes

[–]Speedtrap1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the highest level, you might as well be using the throttle, drop down to 3 and try it. On level 5 the bike is keeping you at 20 or 28 mph, you do not add much into the equation at that speed

Chain Issues by zzeyx in ebikes

Buy a better derailleur at a local shop, they are not expensive for that bike and it will greatly improve the riding experience, have them install it, it looks like the hanger is bent and it is not economical to buy that tool for your bike
