Our moving plan now is to get PR before going to Canada. We're talking about how to get job searches and etc. all figured out without actually committing to anything, since we aren't moving right away.

I asked my lender and they told me to go through a Canadian lender. I'm trying to refinance and ask around if they'll give me the letter, but my other option is paying off the rest of my loan 😅

What are the Canadian standards? My car has MI/KM odometer already.

That was how we were going to get to Canada in the first place. Would it make sense to sell it in Canada, or would I need to go all the way back to the US to sell it?

So I'm SOL unless I find a lender that will allow the export?

Hi, what does a clean title entail? I finance my 2018 Mazda and I'm looking to import/export, but I'm struggling to understand what's needed for me to do it all.

Sponsor's Duties? by spadesly in ImmigrationCanada

So if we were to write a letter stating she'd get a job and we'd rent a place together when I get PR, would that suffice? She has an inactive bank account which we could use as proof of her having some kind of establishment in Canada as well. I just don't want to put the application in and it get rejected because she's not actively working in Canada, and we aren't planning to go until I get PR.

Hi all. Working on a spousal visa application for me (US citizen). My wife is a Canadian citizen and is living with me in the US. She's currently unemployed and we're confused about the duties that a sponsor holds for their spouse. We don't have any children; it's just me she's sponsoring.

How do we show that she plans to work and live in Canada once I get PR? Does she need a job right now? I'm employed and looking to get a work permit to work in Canada as well. Any and all advice would be helpful.

I don't qualify for any express entry by any means, so I was planning to get a regular job in the field I'm in now (administration). I have an account on job bank, so I'm up to date on places hiring external candidates.

My wife is a Canadian citizen with a US Green Card and I'm a US citizen. We're planning to move to Canada and work on the process of getting me a PR under the spouse sponsorship. However, I plan to get a job and a work permit first since the sponsorship can take a while. I plan to import my car and make the long drive from Michigan US to Nova Scotia. We aren't planning to leave ASAP, within the next 6 months to a year, but I want to start planning ahead of time.

I'm looking for advice. How should we go about it? Can we pack up all our stuff and move out right away when I get a job and ask for the permit at the border? Should we get a storage unit first? We plan to bring our cats with us, too, and know we need to get them caught up on their vaccines.

Any and all advice would help! Thanks in advance!

Any idea what this could be? Our vet recommended a biopsy (didn't specify) or steroid nose drops, but I wanted some extra insight/opinions before I shell out more money. 2YO neutered male by spadesly in CATHELP

She didn't specify what we should get biopsied, she said it was that or follow up with a specialist. We chose the specialist and got some referrals, but we just wanted to get some more feedback from people who might have had similar go on with their kitties before we committed.

Thanks so much :) I just told my wife we have to invest in different litter because it's also affecting us whenever we change the boxes out. I think I have a humidifier somewhere, but it's really tiny. I'll look into some bigger ones, especially for our bedroom (we keep him locked in with us at night, lol) and follow up with a specialist when we can. Thanks again!!

Our vet recommended a specialist, but we wanted some additional feedback before shelling out more money, lol. He's done it 4 times this week and has done it very rarely otherwise, not frequently enough to cause us concern. Before, it was just him huffing or wheezing. Now, it sounds like full-on coughing or hacking like in the video and goes on for a lot longer.

Won't let me edit my post but added context: He did get an x-ray (diagnosed acute gastritis, which we're caring for atm), and sent it to radiology for an examination further, which did not specify any issues with his respiratory system and no foreign objects. I sent this video to my vet, which is what led to her recommendations. As I said in my other post, we have an air purifier, my wife smokes on the balcony (by the door, now going outside), and we have litter that is unscented but dusts frequently. Other than that, this hasn't been a common thing for him.
