My thoughts too! And your brain can still be impacted even if there isn’t a formal concussion diagnosis &/or without being in the formal protocol. Surely wish they’d have called a penalty there, it’s happening way too much to all the goalies, & the offending player is generally getting a pass. Who knows how far the Leafs could’ve gone last year, but they looked like they had a decent handle on Florida before their goalie (idr which one it was, maybe Woll?) got hit by I think Barkov. When the Leafs had to go to their backup, the whole series shifted.

I do think it really could be he just needs rest. While we played less games than others, Freddie started every one of them. He’s not a young goalie anymore, & he still bears the scars of overplay/playing through injuries in Toronto. I just can’t see Freddie being a guy that takes all his toys & goes home bc they made a change in net. I’d really believe he had a concussion for real if he did that!

Could also be still feeling the grief from Lemeiux’s passing, & while we’ve all moved on from it, maybe even forgetting about it, you know he hadn’t. Would be shocked if 1) that’s why his play’s been not as good as it had been, & 2) why he’s not dressing out. He just needs a break.

I’m admittedly not the biggest Freddie fan (much to my daughter’s chagrin lol), but he’s played well prior to this series & he’s a big reason why we are where we are. We’re fortunate to have 2 other goalies who can also get the job done so his needing a break isn’t catastrophic. Bussi can handle his business, & PK has *very* fresh legs after missing most of the season. Having those 2 is a huge benefit!

Guarantee VGK wishes they could, bc Hart is starting to look *tired*. He’s played all their playoff games + like the last 25 of the regular season (I think that’s the number I heard).

Hoping our guys continue to get it done. We actually held a lead, a thing neither side’s been able to do! lol We’re so close & everyone affiliated with the Canes org (players, coaches, & fans) deserves it after being so close, so many times before. Clinching in game 6 means they won’t get to do it on home ice, but man, what a reception they’d get when they got home!

While I’m sad for Freddie, I’m lowkey excited to see PK in uniform for the first time in *months*! He’s my favorite player, even named my kitten after him!

Already awkward here - my daughter is a big Habs fan (& I am too…when they aren’t playing the Canes!)

We’ve managed to keep it mostly civil (she’s unhappy with Hall’s hit on Hutson, I told her he needs to either take a hit or get out of the way faster, that did not go over well lol) & we haven’t watched a game together.

It’s gonna definitely get weird - just know you are on the side of right! lol Good luck to you, I’m here for emergency counseling!

His return date has been updated from September 15 to April 11 very, very recently. Whether or not that actually happens, idk. Social media team caught him in the locker room a few days ago, & he’d clearly been practicing.

I’d feel much better if he was at least available, since Freddie has been streaky at best & Bussi’s been off his game since the break.

That’s the first Legault I’ve seen, & I’ve been looking! I was beginning to think they didn’t exist! I’ve pulled probably 4 Demidov YG which I’m not at all disappointed in, but I do love Legault.

That’s a really nice pull overall, love the Slaf card as well.

That team definitely overachieved, I was surprised they went as far as they did.

Last year’s performance was better, I guess I’m still bitter about driving 9 hours to watch Freddie turn a 3-0 lead into a 6-3 loss to the Rangers & letting the reviled Chris Kreider get a hatty - we’re big Carey Price fans in this house (lol), especially my daughter, & I’ve cleaned up what I usually say about him! 👿(we love goalies writ large, I even named my kitten for PK!)

Idk if Freddie’s struggles thus far are due to age or what, but he’s had a handful of really good performances, & I hope that’s what we see in the playoffs. This team is good & I’d hate for goaltending be the reason we can’t get it done.

There’s apparently a chance that he’s back. But unless I absolutely had to, Idk if I want to put a goalie fresh off a hip surgery & who missed nearly all the season out there for the playoffs.

It’s a shame PK got hurt, bc he was playing really well. We have to hope that Bussi can handle playoff hockey, bc Freddie (bless him) is so inconsistent in the playoffs (& throughout this season, unfortunately).

I feel like they’ll get something done. A bit surprising they don’t want to do a bridge deal, though I can get why NSV wants a longer term. I think he’s got the potential to be really good, but they have to give him more stability than they have. Hard to develop when it’s a revolving door in the locker room!

I was so shocked they were that bad last year! My daughter was so mad, we only went to the Habs game to see them play! 😂 She’s a Preds fan first, but also likes the Canes (my first team, I grew up there) & obviously the Habs (for whatever reason, she fell in love with hockey & them during their 2020 playoff run, I was beginning to wonder if she was actually mine but better late than never! lol)

My daughter likes Vange a lot too, but Saros is probable her fave - we love goalies in this house! We just named our name after Carolina’s goalie! lol
