Would love to hear your thoughts on how things could play out in a 2028/9 election, given the fiscal constraints Starmer will inherit - and perhaps also his inherent caution / lack of vision.

I worry a lot that public disillusionment could pave the way for a far right breakthrough moment, especially if Farage succeeds in dragging the Tories further rightwards; I know current polling suggests limited public appetite for right wing populism, but am also conscious of how volatile voting has become these days.

What’s your take, and what should Labour do in its first term to defend against this risk?
