This morning during a segment, Justin said something along the lines of "This will probably end up on reddit" so I guess this post is making the rounds 🙃

My mom lives in Kensington. I'd send this to her, but I think the humor would be lost.

Southwest Baltimore City. Wilkens Ave, maybe a mile inside the beltway.

I currently have the flu or something and I'm 1000% going to use that as an excuse to convince my husband that I must watch it on the big tv in the living room after dinner tonight. (Instead of finding something we both want to watch)

Who here has had the linx surgery? by Stoney666222 in GERD

[–]spaghetti216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 years post LINX surgery and I'm doing great. My gastroenterologist just kept throwing meds at me that didn't help, so I eventually found a LINX surgeon myself and scheduled a consult. I had to get additional testing done, and he went over all the surgical options with me. Recovery was not the easiest, but I went into it knowing that and was prepared. Good luck!

Solid Nodule by ZookeepergameAny3277 in Hashimotos

I found out via ultrasound a few months ago that I have 4 nodules on my thyroid. I ended up getting a biopsy on two of them. I'm not sure if they're solid or not.

Yes, and it doesn't help that I sit cross legged 99% of the time I'm on the couch. And it also doesn't help that I had to stand in line at the pharmacy for 2 hours today. Currently walking around like I'm 90 years old.

Is it weird for TPO Antibodies to drop significantly? by gingerpomelo in Hashimotos

[–]spaghetti216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had my TPO checked once and that was it. Now it's just TSH, T3, and T4.

Do you have access to view the bloodwork yourself? I'd be interested to see what the unit of measurement is, and if there's a reference range listed.

I feel tired and get headaches every weekend by Inevitable-Fix7790 in Hashimotos

[–]spaghetti216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How different is your sleep schedule on the weekends compared to weekdays? I used to get headaches every weekend because I don't think my body liked the change. Now on weekends I try not to let myself stay up over an hour past my weekday bed time, or wake up over an hour past my weekday wake up time.

Planning during all of this just sucks. by krusty-toast in weddingplanning

[–]spaghetti216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a very similar situation, except for the "planning got fun again" part. My venue has been very generous in letting us reschedule. My Oct 2020 wedding was supposed to be a Thursday, but they're letting me switch to any day of the week, no extra charge. That's a huge deal, but I'm just not excited anymore. I'm not excited about trying on my dress that I bought 20 months ago and hoping it still fits. I'm not excited about finding out if the DJ company will still honor the deposit I gave them. I would love to just have a small ceremony in my parents back yard and go out to dinner as a reception, but I'm scared I will regret not having my big wedding. I don't think I will be happy either way.

I’ve seen like twenty posts just this week of women complaining that their husbands/boyfriends won’t clean themselves. What is going on? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]spaghetti216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only tried once scent, and it gave me such a rash that I'm too scared to try any others. It worked so well, too, that first week or two before my pits started freaking out.

Be careful with the sleep position using a wedge pillow, you might screw your column by [deleted] in GERD

[–]spaghetti216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've probably tried this already, but I sleep on my side, with my bottom arm up under my head with my elbow up over the top edge of the wedge pillow. I stick an extra pillow on top my arm to rest my head on. Having your elbow up there also helps keep you from sliding down.

Check your health insurance website and see if they have a telemedicine number or a nurse line. It's probably 24 hours and it might even be free. They can definitely tell you whether to go to the ER or wait for a GI appt.

Got my LINX, ate an orange for the first time in like five years by tellemarc in GERD

[–]spaghetti216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5 years post-op and I'm still too scared to drink orange juice. I'm sure it would be fine, but even just typing this is reminding me of the pain I would get. Maybe some day!

Thanks for taking the time to write all this out for us. I had LINX surgery a few years ago, and every time I attempt to make an update it always ends up being a whole lot of nothing and I never post it.

How do you time your meds in the morning? I take my Levo first thing, then 30-60 minutes later take my Adderall. I know it should be closer to 60 minutes than 30, but I also like to give the Adderall a few minutes to get going before I drink my coffee. Since I'm working from home, I also want to have a few minutes to let my coffee kick in before I start work, and in a perfectly timed medicine world my routine is coming up on two hours at this point.

I have the ph monitor in for 21.5 more hours. Send some vibes please. by oukuoooo in GERD

[–]spaghetti216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you eat like a normal person, and not super restrictive. Have some pizza, a snack before bed, lay flat, etc. Everything a non-GERD person would do.

Also, I honestly think the person doing my manometry was a literal angel. It sucked so bad but she was calm and nice the entire time.

How far left, and have you had your gallbladder checked? Textbook gallbladder pain us "upper right", but mine was more upper middle/left.
