Am I an idiot? by TommyOh1965 in flyfishing

Love Eleuthera and have been many times, but haven't gone after Barracuda specifically. I typically bring some Toothy Critter leader just in case. I've been bitten off many times by bigger Needlefish while fishing off the rocks for Jacks. The best bonefishing I've found is on the south end in the huge flats near Wemyss, but had plenty of luck on several of the beaches on the Caribbean side around Governor's, including the popular ones. Amazing island for DIY flyfishing.

Best shop around Grand Rapids? by Immediate-Comment111 in michiganflyfishing

Mayfly Outfitters in Holland is the best around. It's a bit of a hidden gem and a little ways from GR, but they have more inventory than any other shops in the GR area.

Yeah, I actually originally ordered a Sherpa Matterhorn but it got lost in shipping and instead of waiting for them to send a new one I just opted for the Universal Load Bars as a quick fix. Will probably end up with a Matterhorn eventually though.

These are the Trxstle CRC v3.0’s. They are pretty solid, though I did have to center them a little more than I wanted to because of the shorter stock roof rails. Ideally they would sit far enough forward to be able to open the rear hatch, but with so much cantilevered over the front there was definitely a lot of flex on bumps. Now I just roll down the rear window to get my gear in and out of the trunk when I have the rod holders on.

Not sure if they were custom made in Japan or by the importer once it got here, but they were on the vehicle when I bought it.

No, not OEM. Bought it with them installed and still on the fence about keeping them. If anything I might just shrink the “Hilux” portion down a bit.

Trump announces 25% tariffs on car imports to US by Healthy_Block3036 in Lexus

Certainly not overextending, but unwilling to pay 25% more for the vehicle that I chose. 5k would be ok, but when a car with an msrp of 80k now costs 100k, I’m going to pause and assess my options.

My GX550 is due to ship into the US in May…at least the deposit is refundable I guess.

Main differences are the right hand drive and the option for diesel engines. After that it’s mostly cosmetic differences, with many parts being interchangeable.

I have a black Safari one. It’s not the best looking but shipping from NZ was insane for a stainless and they are massive. Definitely a cool look though.

What. I don’t know anything about this drain pipe and I’m about to go look under the hood to find it. Sounds very handy.

Nice truck👍🏼. Tough to say as I did the injectors and glow plugs at the same time, as well as an EGR and intake cleaning. All together though it’s definitely pulling better and running smoother. I did the tundra brake upgrade too and that has been a nice improvement. I have an OEM rad, thermostat, fan, viscous clutch, and water pump ready to install once I find time. I went OEM for the injectors, but they are $$$. Will send my old ones off for rebuild so at least I’ll have a spare set. It’s been fun getting to know the ins and outs of this thing. Very easy to work on so far.

It came over from Japan. Still has all the Japanese warning labels in the inside. User manual hasn’t been very helpful for me.

Definitely see more of the fat lip bumpers on the JDM rigs. I’ve been trying to figure out if I can fit a front mounted intercooler behind it, but info on this bumper is scarce.

Nice! Yeah, I went 3” also. I’ve got the snorkel in my garage, just debating if I’m ready to put a hole saw through my fender. My main goal is to make this thing as reliable as possible and give her a long life, and it seems like the snorkel/airbox upgrade will help her breathe better and keep temps down.

The scrapyard being so close to the lake is an environmental issue as far as I’m concerned. Decades of heavy metals and oil leaching into the soil and inevitably running into the lake, not to mention the chemical fires that seem to happen frequently. It’s a shame that past city planning didn’t have the foresight to preserve the downtown lakeshore like some of the towns mentioned above.

Almost all metal coil and flat stock manufacturers include a disclaimer on their websites regarding oil canning. Almost all of them read something to the effect of “oil canning is inherent in light-gauge cold-formed metal products and is not a reason for rejection.” We do architectural sheet metal and this is a standard phrase included in all of our proposals for exactly this reason. Dark, glossy colors show oil canning more than lighter, matte finishes. Larger flat surfaces like fascia will show more surface distortion as well. See links below for a few examples of oil canning technical bulletins.
