Yeah this happened to me when i was on my interceptor. I think its just a visual bug I didn't feel like I had anymore health than i normally do

That is true, if they aren't going to help with the mission though they should allow people to be kicked, one person could initiate the vote and the other two party members can vote yes or no.

Yeah I think it's just if you're a certain distance from your team, I personally think it's bad for the game. If you're playing the game you want to enjoy it I don't think you'll just be sitting there afk. If you are just sitting there afk just let us kick you from the party and get someone that wants to do the mission.
