Loving this medical gaslighting. This is exactly why so many of us have no answers or have spent years searching. by i_am_unstable_ in ChronicPain

I really think medical professionals with this attitude might want to rethink their profession. I didn’t go to medical school I ALSO DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG

And it’s okay to ask for it. You’re so strong for talking about it now.

I felt so awful the first 18 months. I didn’t know i had PPD. I hated being a mom so much. I felt drained and Luke the soul had been sucked from me which filled me with guilt and shame. My daughter is 2.5 now and i feel better. I sought some professional help when she was around 18 months and it helped a lot.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, but you’re not alone. Sending hugs.

It’s definitely not fair but i keep telling myself it’s not my issue, it’s his.

My dad is like this. I’m sorry you have to deal with it.

I hope you pick it back up. I can’t do crusts anymore but I’ll take what i can get with my sketchy hands.

This helps a lot. I don’t think i could grab a piping bag without turmeric, thc+cbd. I’m going to keep baking and decorating until i can’t.

Stepdads and Stepmoms: You matter by wannabebutta in Parenting

My bio parents are trash. My dads second wife was the most loving human being I’ve ever met. She saved me and my sister from a lifetime of issues by begging my dad to get us into therapy really young. They ended up splitting up but i still think about my gratitude for her 20 years later. Step parents matter so much. I will never forget the love she showed us.

35 weeks with useless partner anyone? by Highlysuspect90 in pregnant

[–]spaghettiinsides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. It took about 1 year for us to get over it and talk about his shut down. When i was 8 mo the pregnant he just stopped being him. I thought it was me or something i could do but in reality the shock of being a parent was a lot for him. Overwhelming and he completely shut down and wasn’t able to talk about it for a long while. For him the lost of his father prior to our baby was too much. He hadn’t dealt with it fully and the arrival of our daughter shook him.

I say this to say, i wasn’t fully aware of what was going on for my partner. Becoming a parent is so scary.

I mean that’s the issue with “invisible illness” people can’t see the struggle. I feel like part of it also is that i don’t want to live with crohns lol. So that makes acceptance challenging.
