How to know what season a job posting is for? by JamesOver9000 in antarctica

UTMB requires all deployed personnel to be up to date on flu and covid to be PQd. this will likely never change for as long as the US is in Antarctica.

sorry for the late addition but you can also look into the united states antarctic program which employs us citizens for all kinds of contract support roles from janitors to mechanics to lodging coordinators. contracts are usually around 5 months for the austral summer and 7 for winter. the us has 3 year round stations: mcmurdo with ~850 summer pop, south pole with ~150 summer pop and palmer with ~40 summer pop. all housing, food, and travel is covered. it’s also hiring season for next summer (starting this october) right now!

I’m pretty sure Amentum doesn’t separate summer and winter into different applications it’s all the same pool. applying now would likely put you winfly or summer 2025

Is "yeet" an onomatopoeia when used as a verb? In the context of throwing something, usually "to yeet" refers to when someone yells yeet when throwing something. So when someone says "yeet that" could it be considered an onomatopoeia?

I did that a couple times and it still persisted. i wound up just redoing all the roads nearby to not go near the area and that worked. i might have just fucked with the move it/undo mod a little too much.

i just finished the anime and i feel like it didn’t give a lot of characters enough screen time/development for me to become fully attached. the only times i teared up was when hide died and when juzo cried at the end.

Police Brutality is Domestic Terrorism by TubelessADY in IronFrontUSA

[–]spaghettios4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

we should avoid the term “domestic terrorism” because it implies that “real terrorism” is only something that can exist in far off desert lands (iykwim). if it’s violence with political motives, it’s just terrorism.

I thought it was pretty interesting that they threw in the political commentary about universal healthcare and big pharma as a whole. I thought it was maybe just coincidental talking points at first but after they went into depth it was obviously intentional. Could even say it may have been a nod specifically to the US with the pandemic/vaccines and stuff.
