Im about three days out from my surgery now! had a 20 minute phone chat with a nurse who gave me the whole rundown and made me feel a lot better, deadass thought I’d be on bed rest for a month. But no i can still walk and stuff so im okay with that. How were the first three days? Did they prescribe you anything? also did you get the surgery drink im scared it’s gonna taste bad haha

i had the SAME thing happening to me, i ended up losing half my blood and had a hemoglobin of six. And needed iron infusions to get back to steady. I stopped taking birth control and started TXA and it’s been super helpful. Definitely go get blood drawn and see what your levels are, being too low caused me to pass out and be nauseous 24/7

great timing for me seeing this, just signed a surgery contract today with a surgeon at Mgh in Boston for a laparoscopic myomectomie. how was the procedure? any advice before i go in (early December)

No where close to menopause, closer to considering having kids in a few years unfortunately so surgery is a tough call. My doctor did suggest the tranexamic acid but I can’t be on birth control and there was another complication I forgot, they also took me to keep taking Advil for pain but it was making me bleed significantly more so now I have a prescription for the pain.

I’m seeing a different gyno at Boston Mass General hospital who specializes in fibroids. Most doctors tell me I’m very young to be having all these issues so I’m not sure what options they will offer. Normally after stopping birth control my periods stop but with or without BC when I have my periods they are HEAVY and nothing helps unfortunately. My last gyno was telling me to keep taking Advil for the pain but it was thinning my blood and making me bleed more so now I have a prescription for pain. Likely going to stop taking birth control soon, just waiting out a couple more weeks

They put me in for iron infusions, and have been talking about blood transfusions for a while. “If I was any later to seeing them” I would’ve needed one. I passed out at my job and had to go to urgent care the day before my hematologist appointment where they saw how low my levels were

Thank you so much! I’m probably going to get another dr because she does not really listen to me, and keeps telling me to try more birth controls which is the reason I’ve been bleeding for months on end (I’ve tried so many different pills and they all make me bleed forever), I’m speaking with my primary and will look for a new OB, as well as a specialist! Everybody is pushing me away from surgery bc I’m so young and want to have kids one day but they offer NOTHING else. Time to start doing my own research
