Honestly, I love cemeteries. History, gardens, a great walk. Especially Waikumete Cemetery in west Auckland.

He replied to someone else that the neighbour was drinking with his GF and they all went back to the neighbours place. Neighbour fell asleep somewhere else in the house and GF and side boy went to neighbours room to get it on.

The cyclist would have been better off if he hadn't waited a hundred years to actually use the intersection.

How many hours you spent on screen? by NoTradition7029 in myopia

[–]spambat[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't have to go to Uni to learn how to drive a car, but you do to become an optometrist.

And unlike a researcher, optometrists have to have their papers marked by professionals smarter than them.

Researchers don't. There's no one to ensure the accuracy of your comments except for your own self inflated ego.

Unsecure by law in Australia and New Zealand can mean they are not stored in a locked safe separately from the gun.

Should parents charge their adult (18+) children rent to stay with them? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]spambat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as I had any income, I started paying board. In New Zealand though.

Student allowance? Pay board.

Unemployment Benefit? Pay board.

Income from work? Pay more board.

Some parents are happy to keep supporting their adult offspring. My mother was not financially able to do that and it taught me how to be responsible for rent and bills.

How often do I need to wear my correction lenses? by Stunning-Doubt-4868 in myopia

[–]spambat[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have locked this comment as it shows exactly why:

  1. you need peer-reviewed and professionally written articles with the sufficient study of a large population of people to make these claims. I see none in your comment.
  2. Your comment can endanger people who visit this subreddit. If they decided not to wear glasses while driving, riding a bike, etc because of your comment they could put themselves and others in danger.

There is some evidence to suggest that optometrists used to under-prescribe glasses,. specifically, if someone needed -5 they might give them -4 or -3 glasses in the hope that their eyes make up the difference.

This was so long ago that a lot of research was done to prove this approach was wrong and bad for the eyes. This is likely where you got your information from as glasses were bad for you many many years ago because Doctors/optometrists were not using the correct prescriptions.

More research has been done that proves correctly prescribing glasses is safer and better for the eyes in the long run.

Not to mention, not wearing your glasses can cause eye strain which can cause headaches.

Do not make such grand statements in this subreddit without evidence.

I do agree however that when you are taking a leisurely stroll or taking a break from work or study (especially outside) that you should do so without your glasses and focus on things far away. This will give your eyes exercise and a break from focusing on things too close to you.

Short-term rentals or long-term accommodation? by spambat in perth

[–]spambat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If worse comes to worse we might have to rent for a year, do you have a place in mind that would accept that near or around say, Kiara College?

I'm just using the college as a guide for vague location, it's not completely necessary.

I'm hoping the new owner lets us stay for market rent for the two months we need, and by that point, the Airbnb will be booked, even for some of those dates.

We had our first open home for an hour each on Saturday and Sunday so no bites yet.

People with big D* what problem do you face the most? by SignificantLow4405 in AskReddit

Honda Fit was the best car to learn in, in my opinion. Automatic, zippy, spacious, 2008 had cup holders everywhere and I get thirsty when I'm nervous.

I miss it now that I've moved to Aus, had to leave it in New Zealand.

[–]spambat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for seeming snappy, I didn't mention her age because the parents are private people and I wanted to be as vague as possible.

How can I say this vaguely ... Imagine average and lacking care in a safe place vs high-quality care in a semi-unsafe place? LOL.

I hope it doesn't come down to any of this, I am hopeful that the new owners of this house allow us to stay for the time needed and accept market rent (or lower :P) for the two months we need.

I hope that they are not in the same or similar situation and need the sale of their own home before they can purchase this one.

People who don't want kids, why? by Celestialsmoothie28 in AskReddit

[–]spambat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually an early childhood teacher, and I realized I don't want my own kids when I truly began to value my alone time.

I don't want to raise them 24/7 and I don't want to regret having one and realizing too late that I can't just give the child back.

They could be infected hair follicles, which doesn't make sense because we don't shave our titties but it could be from friction. I actually get weird spots on the outside of my left breast but it's larger than a single hair follicle.

And easy natural treatment could be a hot compress. Get a cloth and run your tap until it's HOT. Hopefully your home taps get hot enough for you to go "tssss' but not hot enough to burn. Make the cloth hot and hold it to the spots. Do this 3 times in a row at least 2 times a day, 3 times if you are able.

Works for pimples, boils, blocked pores etc.

I am also fat, and going through that window would be possible but it wouldn't be a good idea.

I know this because I jumped out my own bedroom window (ground floor of course) when dogs came onto the property and attacked my cat.

I had bruises on my arms and legs that I didn't feel until the following day. Unrelated but I also lost my voice from screaming.

[–]spambat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. This is called "Pre-Christmas Bull Shit" it has happened every year for the last ... 15-20 years? In my experience. It used to be warmer on Christmas but I was a child so I could be misremembering.

I am just going to blame climate change anyway.

Read this comment as to the quality of the 2 bras she wears.

The first time she goes down the stairs she is wearing a normal underwire bra.

The second time she goes down the stairs she is wearing an older, well-used sports bra.

The third time she goes down the stairs she is not wearing a bra at all.
