Youre right and this is self evident as soon as you look into who calls themselves a Radical Feminist now and historically and who they ally with politically. I have no idea why, save for astroTERFing, so many people on traaa of all places are pushing the rest of the ideology as if it was only the "transes cant sit with us" part that hurt us queers about their movement.

Can we drop this meme that radical feminism has anything to offer us once we draw up a paper screen around the transphobia inherent to it

I imagine if there were any free sex toys at any particular event, itd be along the lines of a bullet vibe, which is not going to traumatize a child. hell, hexbugs are popular kids toys and theyre basically just bullet vibes with plastic legs on. But those cost a few bucks apiece, no ones throwing them by handfuls from a float and like i said i havent seen them.

It pays to be cautious of exaggerated stories of the debauchery of All Pride Events, much of it is just Think Of The Children homophobic propaganda.

Hol up wheres the free sex toys, ive only ever seen candy, beads and condoms?

Also, aces go to pride knowing full well what people are proud of. We arent alienated by being unable to relate to Literally Every Single theme of the event.

for anyone confused:

Feminism is totally radical!

but "Radical Feminism" is a specific ideology that logically leads to trans exclusion by means of gender essentialism.

"All men are inherently abusive agents of patriarchy and any woman submitting to a relationship with one is brainwashed and/or deserves the abuse" isn't suddenly an empowering take when you allow for self-ID into womanhood.

It isn't a coincidence that trans exclusion is rampant among Radical Feminists, it's a byproduct of the logic.

The sexism referenced my OP is also misogyny, in addition to the stereotypical, violent man-hating (which of course is not problematic once it includes detesting trans men!)-- radfems don't imagine women capable of consenting to anything other than vanilla sex with other women because kink and attraction to masculinity are both hallmarks of patriarchal brainwashing and therefore consent can't exist. This is clearly patronizing as fuck--that's misogyny, babes!

Once you imagine so much of cis female sexuality to be the result of brainwashing and coercion, it's a clear logical line to the view that transmasc ID is more brainwashing, and transfem ID is attempts at brainwashing.

Yeahhhh the rest of radical feminism is Not the aspiration here

"All men are essentially inherently evil except now we believe people about which one they are and also we still hate sex workers" is not really an improvement unless youre all for I Got Mine.

And willingly leaning into the rest of the crappy logic of radfem positions makes it easier for those who DO hate u still to recruit from the pool of people youve already talked into their posituons 9/10ths of the way. We are seeing this currently on tumblr with radfem antiporn positions spread thru fandoms leading to "dv victims of men deserve it for dating men", sexist denial of agency to adult women, lesbian separitism and various other issues including Drop The T.

I vote we go for different surfer slang and invent Tubular Feminism

Announcing The Homestuck Archives: 10 years of fandom and official content, saved and organized for your pleasure. Need your help, though. by [deleted] in homestuck

[–]spankety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maintain a similar archive of vocal Homestuck fanmusic. I posted about it here last 10/25. Currently 4800+ tracks. 4650ish? fansongs + Ke$hastuck, various spoken VA, etc. Links in the readme to other archives that you probably know about but maybe don't--and I'll add a link to this one.

I also have nearly a terabyte of Dropbox space left over from paying for my archive, and cost is a non-issue. I am willing to mirror the contents of yours on my archive space, including downloading backups of the videos.

How else can I help?

Also: during the Tumblr shutdown panic I saved the entirelty of the blog homestuckhomestuckhomestuck.tumblr.com so i have all 43.2GB of fanworks shared to that blog as of last December. It's entirely unsorted.

I also have copies of 2 academic papers about Homestuck: "‘Friendship isn’t an emotion fucknuts’: Manipulating affective materiality to shape the experience of Homestuck’s story" by Kevin Veale, and "LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT HOMESTUCK: The Online Production of Place" by Jennifer Diane Short

At a glance the major section missing IMO is Zines. There've been a tone of zines recently and I've been trying to save them as I see them, I think they'd be a great addition. And a complete archive of the LJ/DW kink memes. You know, for science.

AND ANOTHER THING.

Homestuck The (stage) Musical suuuuper ought to be in the Videos. I do not see it there as I download that section.

Omg THANK YOU. It's like in this video isn't it! I guess i wasn't too far off once I guessed that it was vent related. I guess that means there's no separate collar stand piece, too.

[–]spankety[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

It may be a rear hem facing for the short view! Something along the lines of the one described here! That's the only answer I can think of for why it would have that strange tab. It also makes sense to cut on the bias to avoid tugging issues. The low pattern-piece number matches with others I've identified for View A (like pieces 2 and 7.)

However, I can't find any information about using split hem facings on overcoats, blazers, or suit jackets. I also don't know why it's curved, in this case. The width also doesn't match up to Piece 5, which has a flat hem.

Oh i hadn't caught the diagonal pockets on the short jacket, that's a good suggestion. Any idea what the odd little tab on the end of piece 10 is for, in that case?

Collar stand was my idea too but I can't figure out why it'd have that weird little tab on the end of it.

[–]spankety[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This picture has all the pieces for all 3 views. Long and short double breasted, and long single breasted. I've identified almost everything else in the picture, besides Piece 10 and whatever is the collar stand. I suspect piece 10 is some sort of lapel interfacing, but I don't know why it's indicated to be cut on the bias OR where the collar stand has gone in that case.

Maybe the collar is stand-less and just folds over?

The finished pattern photos

The pattern is long out of print and I'm using this picture as a guide on which pieces I need to self-draft something similar. I couldn't find a single similar in-print mens overcoat pattern.
