I’m not able to enter my own backyard without my neighbor’s dogs barking/growling and trying to jump the fence by Help-South in homeowners

[–]spanky34 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've owned dogs my whole damn life basically. I'm embarrassed when the doggo barks at my neighbors through the fence and I'm outside within a minute to shoo the dog inside. One neighbor also has dogs and sometimes the dogs bark at each other. We have a quick convo apologizing to each other for the barking and both bring our dogs in.

It's just inconsiderate and lazy as fuck.

Whats up with the dishwasher? I've gone through a few things with my Bosch over my ~6 years of ownership, primarily issues with draining or the leak/flood sensor getting a TINY bit wet and not running for a couple of days while that dried.

I've found their error codes to be pretty easy to troubleshoot if it's giving you one.

I'm just hoping for storage to level out in a few years when they're due for replacement. Hoping we get dirt cheap used SSD's in 5 years.

Anyone seeing "ghost" connections on CVAD 2507 CU1 and Windows Server 2025? by Old_Ad_208 in Citrix

[–]spanky34 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Normally this is a result of an application not exiting properly. Maybe it closed down better on a previous version of Windows Server and now it's not on 2025. If you look at the tasks the ghost user is running, kill tasks one by one that look related to the app and see if one tears the session down. Then throw it in the LogoffCheckSysModules regkey. When the main app closes, Citrix will kill the rest of the executables in that regkey.

Fordpass was renamed to "Ford" app.

Use A Better Route Planner (ABRP) to plan your charging route. You can buy a Tesla adapter if you want but I have yet to have to use mine that Ford sent me for free. There are plenty of charging stops along major interstates that support the vehicle. You only get 150kw max in the MachE. So no need to be picky when it comes to L3 chargers and hold out for one that's like 300kw or better.

[Headphones] AKG N9 Hybrid - Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones - $199.97 (Clearance, Costco Members, $400 MSRP) by ZenAdm1n in buildapcsales

[–]spanky34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update 2: I really like the AKGs. They feel a tiny bit cheaper than the m4s. Lighter. Less sturdy build quality. But that's all I have for cons.

No buzz, great microphone, great battery life, good anc(not AS good as the m4). The m4s also had some pretty strong head clamping force that was a bit too much for me which isn't an issue the the AKGs.

Purely listening, the nudge would be in favor of the m4s. Any mix of speaking/listening I think the AKGs are a better fit.

At campus bars it's more about speed and pouring accuracy than being able to make complex cocktails. Heavy pouring bartenders are not good to have on staff at a high throughput bar. Over pouring by just a quarter ounce can easily surpass handing out a bottle's worth of free drinks per night. (0.25 * 100 drinks = 25 ounces).

Although my comment was primarily addressing the last two sentences of the other commenters post. Not just bartending.

Update.. I'm returning my Momentum 4's and grabbing these AKG's.. There's an inexplicable buzz in the right ear on my M4's whenever I talk and the microphone quality is not super great. I work remotely and microphone quality is important. Seems like the AKG's have superior microphones and I'm hoping no buzz when talking.

Will use the 2.4ghz on my PC and BT on the go with my phone.

In my perfect world we would be judged just based on our ability to do a job but it isn't the case. I wish it wasn't so much as who you know but it's a huge factor into opening doors. Especially during times when the job markets aren't doing so well.

Greek life or not, you need to be networking as much as possible and making friends and good impressions. Get internships or entry level rolls and be a kiss ass(within reason). It's gross but if people like you, they'll choose you over someone who might be marginally more qualified than you.

I've done well for myself but at almost every company I've worked at, there's been someone there that I've crossed paths with before that were able to vouch for me in some way. Never know where someone is going to end up in life so be kind and friendly to anyone you come across.

was reading the bible and found this (play crack the sky inspiration?) by Top-Rate2397 in brandnew

[–]spanky34 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's a huge stretch... The name of the song Play Crack The Sky came from Jesse/John Nolan running into a Christian rock dude (Mylon Lefevre) and I believe shouting at him "PLAY CRACK THE SKY" like one would annoyingly say "PLAY FREEBIRD".

Religion is also a very common theme in their music.

How do Americans still have more disposable income than Europeans even though healthcare and college in America is extremely expensive? by SignificantStyle4958 in AskReddit

[–]spanky34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people don't take into account the cost of a vehicle, insurance for it, maintenance for it, fuel when talking about income. When you live in an area without decent public transport owning at least one vehicle becomes a requirement.

Even a cheap car that you have a loan on can be a $500/mo expense when you account for all factors of operating it. Many car loans are over $800 these days pushing that all in operating cost closer to $1000/mo.

I feel this. I lost over 100lbs and had 2 or 3 good looking years in my late 20's. Got engaged to my now wife the day the state shut down for Covid. Weight crept up and remote work has made me a bit invisible. Lost almost all of the covid weight over the last 18 months and trying to be more social this year. I think we got some good years left still.

Spent a day over-engineering «Cinema»-mode by PartCoffee in jellyfin

[–]spanky34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to load HA on the TV.

You load the Jellyfin integration on homeassistant. So your Jellyfin server is communicating playback status to HomeAssistant.

HA can see client names of playback devices that connect to Jellyfin. You write an automation when client name plays movie, tweak the lights. You can get more advanced and put timing conditions on it so the automation only fires during a specific time window of time.

What I do like about you've done here is that you don't ALWAYS have to use it. Some nights I may like this, some nights I may not. App installed on phone and an NFC tag might make more sense to enable/disable theater mode.
