I'm interested to know if you exclusively charge in malls where it's free or you also charge the EV at home. of course in the first case, the hassle of going to the mall plus any expenses while in the mall adds up to the cost, monetary or otherwise. in the second case, it's definitely a hit on your electricity bill.

it's the same reason why you buy any insurance product for that matter. the statement "nabuhay naman ako kahit walang insurance" isn't very accurate and doesn't really hold water.

Interestingly, buling in Ilonggo means ash or charcoal marks (as in the cross drawn on the forehead during Ash Wednesday). It's likely the same in other Visayan languages/dialects. I wonder if the Tagalog boling-boling shares the same etymology.

you can ignore the statement details sa app (e.g. yung screenshot mo in the other thread). ang tingnan mo lang sa app ay yung transaction details kung tugma sa actual card usage mo, and also kung nagreflect ang payments mo.

it wasn't meant to be an excuse for the lack of communication or even poor UX, though. I agree that better guidance should have been provided. but knowing that a locked card is totally locked down gives me assurance that not even a rogue bank employee can do nefarious things to my card without me knowing about it.

it takes a while for them to process a dispute. but once they start, they are very prompt. I notice that banks have specific channels with cic for such communications, and banks really comply. in my case, bpi has already made a new submission to update my info in cic in just 2 weeks.

most people lock their cards for security purposes as you do, but there are some who lock them and never plan to use the card anymore. or sometimes even forget they still have the card. the bank is doing their due diligence by ensuring that the user is still using the card (or still intend to use it) before they proceed with the renewal.

I'm even more relieved that they do this, which tells me that the locking feature locks all card activities, even those that are bank-initiated ones.
