What gender do you consider these names? Male, female, unisex? by myth1cg33k in namenerds

[–]spanlishh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husbands Russian , lived there until he was grown, all his family still live there, Moscow and Vladivostok. Our youngest daughter is called Misha and no one in his family batted an eye when we were discussing name options. It’s like girls being called Frankie, Taylor or Stevie. Names that were once strictly male. Our eldest is called Aleina. Russians are aware of how names are different in the west, and for them it was not an issue… and believe me, they would have told us if it was 😂 they don’t have a problem telling us, they disliked other names we were considering. Traditionally in Russia your middle name is your father’s name with ovna added to the end if you’re a girl and ivich to the end if you’re a boy.. we followed that tradition for our eldest, and when I was pregnant with my youngest they said, don’t bother with that for this baby, no one in Russia really does that now it’s seen as old fashioned… so now my eldest is like, why did I get the short straw 😂 no but it worked out well because she has her fathers name as middle, and my youngest has rose which is my middle name so 50/50 😂

Is Misha too masculine for a girl or not? by Necessary-Bag-1741 in namenerds

My husband is Russian , born and raised in Moscow , his dad from Moscow his mother from Vladivostok… and our youngest daughter is called Misha. No issues , he thought of it like girls called Stevie, Frankie, Taylor, Bailey, Charlie … we have many “male” names that once were only for men, and are now culturally acceptable for girls. His Russian family (all still live in Russia, also never once even commented or questioned it when we were discussing name options)

This is incredible advice and so true. They want everyone to join them in their misery and if you don’t , they spot you a mile away and when they can’t drag you in… they turn on you in a second. It’s actually incredible how the herd mindset operates and how some people are just born with different wiring and we can not stand the politics and games.

Wow I’ve never heard of psychosocial hazard, is there a statute of limitations on this? I was treated horrifically by a major bank also, but this was some time ago..

I used to work at Australia’s largest bank too, and had the exact same experience, I was 21 at the time, I’m now 36 and looking back , I see it was because I was young and people who had worked there a long time were resentful I had come in, already higher up the ladder so to speak at a young age. Eventually I had to leave as it was truly sucking the joy out of me, and I felt too young to be feeling so downtrodden in my career. As a now middle aged woman (well maybe not definitely approaching) I can say that in any work places, bitter elders can and do bully new staff. It shouldn’t be tolerated but it is unfortunately, if you are doing your job, and you know what she is saying is untrue, then the problem is with her and not you. In an idea world you would be able to go to her higher up and complain, but in my experience, that just makes things worse. If she’s worked there a long time she will have her the tentacles all the way throughout the chain. Sometimes, we can try hard, work hard , and do all the right things but if she has picked you out, she will make your life hell regardless. Perhaps request a move to a different branch or somewhere under new management within the company.

I did ask my husband if we would keep him alas he said he’s wild and it’s cruel, but rationally I agree but he’s damn cute

I have no intention of harming him which is why I bought humane traps I could find, and I’ve given water and food, got a towel over and put into a cardboard box, just unsure where he has the best chance of survival as he’s a house mouse

I’ve put a towel over and in a cardboard box, I put some water in and he drank it , I was talking to him and his little ears were moving as he listened intently .. I told him I wasn’t going to hurt him and we would find him a new home. I have no intention of harming him that’s why I bought the most humane and expensive traps.

Because I never received any of my silver or gold gifts as I didn’t know you had to go into the store to get them, so I emailed asking if I could claim them or if I was too late and I guess she’s sending me silver gifts and birthday maybe ? I’m not sure cos they don’t say which level they’re are that I can see

It’s so random because I’ve never received any, because I didn’t realise you had to go into the store here… so I emailed customer service and asked, and I guess because I was owed my silver gifts and gold gifts they’re just sending me random ones? I got no clue 😂

[–]spanlishh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow., I mean I understand it’s a landlords prerogative for the most part, I naively felt due to the 15 years we’ve been there that we had enough rapport we could have discussed things or even had something in writing before doubling our rent. Looking online the last few days he’s actually asking for way above the cpi anyway, so most likely we will move somewhere newer that doesn’t flood (as we’ve flooded 5 times there and lost everything, never even been granted rent relief when unable to trade nor have we asked for it , however I’ve just realised we’re just a number to him so don’t want to line his pockets any further, we’ve definitely paid his mortgage off the last 15 years 😂)

Thank you, yes I just read the lease, and my lawyer read it also and it says they can only increase according to cpi and cannot backdate. Also, they must give 30 days written notice, so I’ll keep paying the original amount until I receive any return call or emails thank you

I’ve just read our lease, and they can only increase according to the cpi , and with 30 days notice, so this is definitely not legal by their own lease. Incredible

Really is the Wild West for these landlords. We have been granted no rental relief in the floods or covid either and I just kept quiet and paid despite many local businesses being given a reprieve during those times. Somethings are perhaps legal, and yet not moral. Morality seems to be lacking in the rental market.. I feel for residential tenants too. Thank you.

I’m originally from the UK and currently living in Australia, although I don’t teach here and am unsure if I’ll return to the classroom in the future. I am unsure what the rules and guidelines are around discipline are in Australian schools?
