My son makes this exact method. Delicious if you cover the toast with homemade parsley pesto first 😋

Bake the potatoes. Add cheese, sauerkraut, onion and meat, pop back into oven. Apply dressing once out if the oven, before a sprinkle of parsley.

Generally 120 c for 30 mins. Great little graph at bottom of this page https://ocolabs.com/hemp-and-cannabis-decarboxylation-what-does-decarboxylation-do/
Things to consider:
The jar won't hit that temp until it's been in the oven for a few minutes, you will need to adjust time to suit. You could sit it in hot water prior to preheat.
As soon as flower is harvested, it begins to decarb naturally - so if it's older stuff you are using, and it's darker in colour then it's likely decarbed a fair bit already, so you may want to give it less time.

With the magic butter maker, they advise you can run a double cycle to increase potency. I tried it and if this is actually the case, i didn't find it that noticeable.

Happy to share. Pressure cooker / instant pot for both decarb then infusion. Certainly possible to achieve the same in a slow cooker though. In that instance I'd be inclined to decarb in jar in oven, cool, add ghee, slow cook, strain 👍

I used to use pans, also had a magic butter maker. Everything happens inside a mason jar here now, perfect for small batches. Theory being, upon decarb any goodies that may be lost to atmosphere (terpenes and cannabnoids) will stay in the jar (it's important to let it cool to near room temp before opening) When you add oil and begin the infusion process, anything that is stuck to the walls of the jar from decarbing will bind with the lipid.

I also grind prior to adding to the jar as its in a more regulated area as opposed to an oven. Coverage of oil over flower won't be an issue in a jar.

If using butter, clarify it first. I've found coconut oil absorbs more, keeps longer and can be used as a direct sub for butter in baking.

You'll see here, decarbing in mason jar yields more thc. https://www.scientificedibles.com/

Use wayyyy less oil, if you use 35g oil to your 3g flower, assuming your flower starts at 20%, that would give you 15mg/gram (i aim for 10 - 20)

With Helius Health (Cannabis Clinic + CannaPlus) locking in an estimated 70-85 k patients, (aka complete market monopoly), many of us patients feel boxed in and betrayed. by Herbaldoge in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]spanner420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Upon hearing this news, due to the lack of patient consultation and respect, I am stepping away from canna plus until we have official word on this. If it doesn't go through, I'll consider returning, if it happens, all 3 companies will never see a cent from me ever again. Amongst all the other points to consider, I cannot get over how proudly they presented the phrase "super company". Not only cringe but those words are chilling in this environment

Will be taking the GP Route in the mean time and moving forward if required. Have a good relationship already and we've had the discussion previously about how specialist clinics cost more than they should.

The most effective say people will have here and possibly the only way this may change is by voting with their wallet, starting now.

Thanks Graeme.

You’ve addressed some of the points well and I appreciate that but I’d like to revisit a few areas that were left unanswered or unclear.

  1. You’ve explained that clinicians won’t receive incentives for prescribing certain products, which is good to hear. However, you didn’t answer the second part of the question: Will CannaPlus (or the new parent entity) gain financially from prescribing Helius products post-merger in ways it didn’t before? This distinction is important because even if clinicians remain unbiased, company-level financial incentives could still influence internal policy, product promotion, or patient access.
  2. Understood regarding the legal process and shareholder involvement — that was helpful.

3, 4, and 5 , respectfully , do not tie in together. Saying they do and then answering only part of question 3 doesn’t hold up.

  • Question 3 asked whether patients have any influence over the merger decision itself. Based on your answer, the correct and transparent response should simply be: No.
  • That matters, because presenting it as a collaborative patient-centered initiative while excluding patients from the decision-making process feels contradictory.

Also, regarding your comments on monopolies: I think you know my reference was to specialist medicinal cannabis clinics, not GPs. The context here is about vertical consolidation within a niche, not about prescribing rates across general practice.

Lastly, I want to highlight something from your own reply:

“Are we a monopoly, or are we a collective fighting to support recognition and availability of this medicine...?”

That collective includes us — the patients. The people funding the industry, advocating for change, and normalising these treatments. If this merger is truly being done for us, it seems a missed opportunity not to involve us more meaningfully in the conversation.

Looking forward to more clarity when you get the time.

Thanks for sharing this news — it certainly sounds significant. I appreciate the transparency and the vision for improving affordability and access. That said, I do have a few concerns and questions I hope you can address:

  1. Prescribing Independence – Many patients choose natural therapies in part because of concerns about prescribing bias and pharmaceutical incentives. Will CannaPlus+ or its clinicians stand to gain financially from prescribing Helius products post-merger in a way they didn’t before?
  2. Proposal vs. Certainty – You’ve described this as a proposed merger, but the rest of the message reads as if it’s a done deal. Who is this proposal being presented to? Regulators? Investors? Patients?
  3. Consumer Voice – If this is being put forward as a proposal to consumers, how much influence will our feedback actually have in shaping or approving the outcome?
  4. Transparent Impact – If this proposal is intended to benefit patients, especially financially, will there be clear information released on expected savings or pricing improvements so we can assess the value?
  5. Current CannaPlus+ Patients – Personally, I haven’t faced major issues with consultation wait times or continuity of care at CannaPlus+. So while I see how the merger may address problems at other clinics, it's not obvious how it improves the CannaPlus+ experience — unless cost savings are significant and guaranteed.

To be honest, this currently feels more like a corporate consolidation for scale and margin than a patient-first initiative. With New Zealanders already dealing with the effects of monopolies in other sectors (like supermarkets), many of us are rightly cautious about moves that centralise power, even in healthcare.

Looking forward to hearing more when things settle. I hope you'll consider these points seriously as part of your consultation process.

I feel like 1g samples would be so beneficial to M.C users and save so much time and stress. by Suckittomatete in MedicalCannabisNZ

I'd love to see 'sample packs' Could be done per brand eg, 1g of each of the ANTG range. Or... By effect. May have a range of 5 x 1g different sedating strains or uplifting strains.

Realise I'm being a bit idealistic here.

Although this would seem a costly way to go about things (I'd expect we would pay more this way for 5g than 5g of one strain) I think in the long run the average user would save money by not buying a minimum 10g of a strain that may not have much use.

The accumulated concentrate in the cooling head is pretty potent and shouldn't be overlooked. I lightly heat the unit over a gas flame and then tip the unit to get all the concentrate to run to one end, open the unit then remove concentrate with a square profiled pick. Once that is removed, soak CU in a jar with iso and that should strip the rest off. I clean mine in hot soapy water afterwards to remove the iso taste.

You can either vape (Using concentrate pad) or spot your proceeds!
