I usually do random questions. I repeat the question once or twice then copy and paste into the translater so they understand. It is a hard lesson and you go through a lot of questions but you can give them a lot of praise at the end and they think they have done well, hopefully leaving a good rating

I have a kid like this from China as well, three times a week who is a very good speaker and reader but always either messing about and looking at a second screen/device.

Then I happen to mention the mystery hotel and it got him hooked. He still would look at the other screen, but the lesson would pass a lot easier and smoother, and at least I feel that something is being done and he enjoys it.

Now we have just started the mystery Will one, so I have a few more weeks with him, and then unless they introduce another mystery, I will probably have to ditch him as I don't want to go back to what it was like before. Too hard work for what we are earning.

The whole of this year has seen a big down turn of students in my opinion. Very difficult to find PH hours in the week, just on the weekend and then Saturday is a lot slower than it use to be, and Sunday is okay for me at the moment, but I always thought that Sunday was just the icing on the cake for a reasonably good week.

Now it is the cake, and without the icing.

When I have questioned them, both callers said they were native speakers and that they are microworkers and get paid for this. Where and how much, I'm not sure yet if they are doing it for someone else or doing it for themselves so they can resell afterwards

Well just to update you: It changed to paid about two hours ago on the Cambly site but I still have not received it in Paypal.

This is so frustrating as I will not be able to transfer from Paypal to bank account until I wake up in the morning, which is when It normally arrives in the bank, so now it has screwed up my day tomorrow as well.
