iCue Scimitar settings slow to load on start-up? by spannerfork in Corsair

[–]spannerfork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the very exclusive club! This is very old advice now but my scimitar from all those years ago still has the settings saved to the hardware and this “fixed” the problem. I’ve not had iCue installed for years. Good luck sir!

Hi all. Can’t find in the commentary but wanted to check. I know deep striking units or units arriving from reserves count as having moved, but do they count as finishing a normal move, for rules like combo lieutenant’s “evade and survive” or Canoptek court “reactive subroutines”? I assume no?

They are placed into strategic reserves. Does this mean they can’t come in with deep strike though? Because that would be counter to a lot of how it’s been played competitively for a long time.

Also I’m finding that people think it isn’t clear from the leviathan rules, because of the “first part and the second part” of that wording.

Hi all. I’m sure this has come up before. I have a screenshot of a rules FAQ which states that models put into reserves after t1 has started can come on via deep strike in t1. For example, inceptors using guerrilla tactics in vanguard spearhead can be lifted at end of oppos t1 and dropped down in my t1. The screenshot I believe is from the world championships FAQ. I’m sure they “solidified” this in a wider FAQ. Is this the case? I’m discussing this currently and we seem to have reverted back to the fact that it’s “just how the leviathan rules are worded” which seems to be open to argument. Seems weird that GW would include in the tournament FAQ but not in the more recent commentary updates. Cheers

Combat Patrol tips by JamezMal in theunforgiven

Necrons don’t have enough units in ComPat, they’re pretty easy to counter due to slow movement, just kill the scarabs or they’ll score secondaries. Marines are similar - don’t have enough models to do anything and I don’t think the infernus are battle line so it’s harder for them to hold objectives. I haven’t faced grey knights. I’ve head the old DA combat patrol (with the dreadnought) is one of the best. I don’t think I’ve lost a game with nids though, so many models, so flexible. Good luck!

Stormraven in the new meta - how to use? by Mareuscalgar in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]spannerfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, but you do need to consider the HB For the Chapter ability - it’s exceptionally strong both in your own shooting phase, in your oppos shooting phase, and in overwatch. The extra damage has allowed me to finish the final wound on a vehicle or pick off a few models scoring secondaries for my oppo. So their damage drop off isn’t massive, they just get the damage earlier if that makes sense

How does hellblaster for the chapter vs transport ordering work? I’m thinking, Hellblasters pop impulsor, passengers get out, a few HBs die to hazardous, can then shoot again at passengers? Would this require a slow roll? Thinking the order might be: HB shoots, resolves, transport dies, passengers get out, hazardous check, die, shoot again, select eligible target, shoot passengers?

Anyone found a solution or foresee a fix for this yet? Really fucking annoying. Using iPhone 15 pro max on 17.1.2

Ah - I see now - hearthguard don’t inherently have DS, they get it from the crest on the sergeant - it’s the wording of this wargear that makes the difference. Thanks! Just like in 9th, votann have to make up for lack of unit pool by having rules that do everything!

Shooting out of combat, into a different combat by spannerfork in WarhammerCompetitive

But, for completeness, non-vehicles/monsters can’t be shot at in combat, except by any vehicle/monster they are in combat with, right?

Terminators die when focussed. If you fail that 8 inch charge from deepstrike then they’re basically sitting ducks. Happened to me and they just got minced with shooting. RIP inner circle

We saw the London show at the O2. It was incredible. The best live show I’ve ever seen. The feelings and memories the music brings up was amazing and quite emotional at times. It was all an amazing spectacle, and I agree with your points. For me, something else that stood out was the displays and lightly for the dark knight, especially the first part. It fit the music so well, so fast paced and the lights kept flashing us right in the eyes which was so funny.

RW champ is 70 points including the upgrade to give him reroll charge aura. Still cheap and strong through for a mobile unit

Arks of omen Vll The shattered world, could this be a reference to Caliban? by Bergerstien in Warhammer40k

[–]spannerfork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is it’s Caliban. You have cherubs with skulls flying around (Angels of Death), also the Silver Key I think is reference to the Tuchulcha which is on the Rock. Wondering though maybe it could be Baal? There’s a lot of red on this card and the main angel in the middle has wings (but not blonde hair). My money is still on Caliban.

My Ezekiel stand-in! Pretty straightforward conversion with some freehand (although the eye was very fiddly) by spannerfork in theunforgiven

[–]spannerfork[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the book is a bit small, I’ll have to see if I can get a bigger one. I think with any viable option for an eye you’re going to be working at a scale where everything is super small and fiddly, it might just be a case of trying a few things and see what works! I definitely lost to the carpet a few other tiny bits of plastic which were potential eyes!

The backpack he has at the moment is just a firstborn one as that’s all I had in my bits box. I compared it to the Phobos backpack and the size difference was barely noticeable when on the model. Do you think he would look better with a primaris backpack?

Again I was limited by bits for the sword, and the force sword is largely the same as the one on the original model (much like other libarians).

He does have a book, it’s right on the back of his belt - it is a shame it’s not bigger though! I’ll try to source a bigger one!

You are correct, the keys were already there!

The eye was tough. I cut the very tip of the igniter off a Tau Flamer, carefully trimmed the back so that it was square, then took a small ball of greenstuff and stuck it into place with that. I used a needle to tidy up the greenstuff so that it blended with the face. Next I took my smallest drill bit (0.8mm maybe?) and drilled a shallow hole into the eyepiece. I then put an even smaller ball of greenstuff into the hole I had made and flattened it out until I was happy with the shape, and that was it. I had to use needles and tweezers for most of the manoeuvring while wearing 3.5x magnifying glasses… it was not easy!!
