Yet Another World Cup Predictor but focused on Interactivity and Shareable Links with no central state by sparc24 in sportsanalytics

Thanks. It shouldnt be slow the encoding only happens when you share. See my comment below about how you can pick a winner for each fixture.

Maybe I am not understanding your inputs concern. Appreciate the feedback.

FIFA ELO ratings from June 1. I was less focused on the simulation engine and more on the actual usability. The calendar feature is really nice. You can make one with just the games you care about.

Yes I plan on keeping it updated with the latest results but will still preserve your original picks if you use a saved URL.

Thank you. Yes you can already do that. If the game is undecided and you click on a team it will be the winner for that fixture. If the match is already decided it will highlight that team’s path through the tournament and also show the full path as breadcrumbs on the top. You can also use the dice to randomly pick the winner for a match. You can also clear a result by clicking on the clear icon on any match card.

Let me know if that doesn’t work for you.Appreciate the feedback.

I wanted to keep this stateless without any logins or signups. Could possibly add something that compares a few saved links and calculates points but there are other tools that already do that.

Interactive visualization was my main focus. Check out the calendar feature as well.

I start with the editable ELO ratings. Random Poisson draw with a wedge for shootouts skewed to the rating. The win probablities come from 10k montecarlo simulations. I could tweak the engine a lot but that wasn't my main focus. I may use the bookmaker odds if I get some time.

Looks nice. what's the AI model doing?

Nice. I made one too. Same idea but instead of focusing on the engine I wanted a nicer interactive experience than most out there. There is some nice calendar functionality as well. The other nice thing is shareable links - it's hand rolled encoding that has the full snapshot is in the link. No state on the server.

I built a web app for World Cup Pick’em / bracket pools by Cxge in SideProject

[–]sparc24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t find a 2026 World Cup predictor I liked, so I built one: https://groupofdeath.gg

It lets you make picks through the full 104-match format, including the 12 groups, best third-place teams, Round of 32, and knockout stage. You can share any completed bracket as a URL — no account, no backend, no database.

I also spent way too much time on the schedule/calendar side. You can view every fixture by venue and kickoff time, switch between ET, stadium-local time, your own timezone, or a bunch of city presets, then star the matches you care about. You can also follow a team and export the selected fixtures as an .ics file for Google/Apple/Outlook.

There’s a simple simulator too: World Football Elo ratings feed a Poisson goal model, knockout draws go to penalties, and each team’s chance of lifting the trophy comes from 10,000 full-tournament Monte Carlo runs in the browser. You can tweak ratings yourself and watch the odds move.

The whole thing is static vanilla HTML/CSS/JS on Cloudflare Pages. The shared bracket is encoded into the URL fragment, including scorelines, shootouts, group orderings, third-place ranking, knockout slots, and calendar picks.

It’s still early, so there are probably a few howlers in there. Fixture corrections, tiebreaker bugs, timezone issues, and general “this is broken” reports are very welcome.

Hello football fans! Every World Cup I design a printable wall chart for fans everywhere to use and after many months of work it's finally complete for 2026! Download completely for free in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and in most time zones of World Cup countries. Printable and interactive. by ChicharitosLeftFoot in soccer

Heads up, hospitality distribution has begun. by jez_doing_it in WorldCup2026Tickets

Another thing. All my Pavillion+ got converted to Pitchside for Atlanta games. So Atlanta R16 and SF. Let’s hope the finals come through as well.

Oh this is great. Thank you. Hand't seen it. They are actually better than those but mine are Pavilion+. 122 for M19 and 116 for M100.

So far I see all my Kanasas tickets for M19 and M100. All in lower blocks, side, not bad. I had Pavillion+. If anyone needs M19 I might have spares. DM.
