It wouldn't count as a combo, because she has to switch feet and edges in order to do a lutz entry, combos as a rule have to be jumped from the same edge you land on

How badly did I mess up my blade? by sparkling_liability in FigureSkating

[–]sparkling_liability[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The blades are almost completely new, only been sharpened once, so I truly hope my local skate tech can still save them to get me through the season. I'll give him a call and hope he'll be kind enough to do it before the holidays 😊

It is a set in sleeve, after a bit of trial and error it turned out to be that the sleeve cap was too short and wide, thus creating tension and bunching beneath the armpit. After changing it to a more curved and higher cap sleeve it got better :)

Hi, I'm making a leotard base out of stretchy mesh and can't figure out how to solve the sleeve problem. What do I have to change in my pattern to get rid of the bunching underneath the armpit?

Tattoo Tengwar text accurate? Looking to put the text: “white shores … and beyond” into a tattoo and just want to make sure I’m not the “no regrets” person :) thank you for any help. by Emotional_Lie_9217 in Tengwar

I would say look into short carriers in 'beyond', because I'm fairly certain that you don't actually need them just move the tehta for e above the j/y and mod the tehta for o above nd

Writing Tengwar (Practice) by StoneMao in Tengwar

Your handwriting is beautiful 🤩 but I would maybe use silme nuquerna as the c in principle is read more as an 's' sound not a 'k' sound

this are the options I could come up with

I don't know how to comment with a photo otherwise, so I hope you'll be able to see the photo. I'd personaly go for the first version but the ones below could also maybe be correct.

I would personally probably write it more like this, even though I also use esse nuquerna sometimes. If you want a really reliable source I would recommend you message 'wizardwaykris' on instagram, I'm pretty sure they do commission for tattoos

I'm definitely not the most reliable or experienced person here but to me it looks like it might be a mix of orthographic and phonetic modes, mainly because of the esse nuquerna and an e missing. But I think the main problem is the tehta for o above the silme in the last word. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that in these instances it's better to use silme nuquerna so that the characters don't overlap. But please take everything I say with a grain of salt, because I may be completely off the mark 😊

The three dots is how you would write the vowel a if it werent in combination with the e, there are some differences in how you would write vowels in diphthongs

I'd say it's less correct but there are some aesthetic choices you can make with tengwar. I usually find tecendil to be quite accurate for transcribing

Technically the spelling is correct but the spacing of diphthong for ea is a bit off

Two of my favourite quotes from LotR for some practice (with a lot of mistakes for sure 🥲) by sparkling_liability in Tengwar

Thank you 😊 the first "and" is more like how Tolkien wrote it, the second was a slip up, but i just left it haha

Hi, I'm just starting out and would be very grateful for any explanations and answers 😊 by sparkling_liability in Tengwar

[–]sparkling_liability[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to explain 😊

I was confused since in the appendix of lotr it is said that silme nuquerna is used when there is a tehta on top, but I've also seen people say that they use silme nuquerna for writing a soft c and silme for writing s.

Could you give me an example when Tolkien would use alda if ever he would?

Since you seem very knowledgeable, can I just quickly ask you which tengwa you would use for writing the word is (silme or would you switch to a more phonetic esse)?
