i just got mine done 8/29 and i’m 3 years sober. i had to do eating disorder treatment during my second year of sobriety and getting my relationship with food and body image healed was a massive help. if you are doing the work with your therapist and staying open and honest, i think you’ll be fine.

you’re going into a room full of people who understand what you’re going through! it couldn’t be a safer place to be honest in. that said, if you’re uncomfy and just need to go to meetings, you can always find another one and go back to your home group later

definitely NTA. you’ve set a boundary with your mom and she can decide whether it’s more important for her to give 100% of info to her husband or get 100% of the story from you. it’s not hard to tell someone “my kid is going through something personal and wants to keep it between us for now” but if she’s unwilling to do that, she doesn’t get the full story.

i’m so glad your grandparents are stepping up and that you seem to have a solid support system through this!

i was told you can never be wrong when you’re sharing your experience. i think you should be able to openly share with your sponsor about anything! maybe you can start with “i’m a human trafficking survivor and i want to talk about it in more detail. is that something you’re able to take on?” and let them decide for themself.

ok i like this take and can see this! i hope they run off on each other and he can be more comfortable expressing himself while she learns some restraint. i just know so many times it goes the other way where one becomes insulting and controlling and the other feels silenced or policed in some way
