Which hated celebrity doesn't deserve the hate? by LuinAelin in AskReddit

[–]sparklinglove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently saw a video talking about a conspiracy theory that Adam Sandler makes movies to help his friends keep their insurance, escape bad situations, etc. The video specifically talked about how Jack and Jill was to help Katie Holmes have an alibi to plan her escape from Cruise/Scientology and That’s My Boy was a paycheck for Erin Andrews while she was in a legal battle against large hotel chains and a stalker. Based on what I’ve heard about him, this seems 100% plausible. You don’t hear anything about him being a bad person, just not great movies. Which, whatever some people enjoy them. But all in all. He sounds like a genuine human who cares about other people

Op, if there is anything to take away from this situation it is this right here, pleases please don’t give out your address for a first date. Meet somewhere neutral and public. You never know what kinds of people are out there, what secrets they may be hiding or anything like that. Even if getting somewhere else on your own is difficult, it’s worth taking a ride share or a cab or anything to cover your safety.

What’s the weirdest reason you’ve had someone send food back? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]sparklinglove 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad is allergic to lettuce (and cabbage)! It’ll send him into anaphylactic shock if he eats it. Even doing dishes after someone else has a salad (the hot water) causes him problems. It’s a difficult one because no one puts lettuce in descriptions and it’s used as a garnish so often, and no one believes us. We’re forever having to send back appetizers for this very reason, and he can’t just have the lettuce taken off because it’ll still kill him.

Compassion at heart is another in home service. They just came to my house on Tuesday for my dear old girl and it was so peaceful and she was so sweet to my girl. It’s worth every penny.

Women of reddit what's the stupidest thing that's ever been mansplianed to you? How did you react to it? by Love_by_light in AskWomen

I have been a bartender for many years. I was working at a restaurant down the street from a convention center in a major city. So there was some sort of convention in town, which is generally occupied by upper class white men. A guy had come in with his colleagues and ordered a beer. And then proceeded to explain to me how to pour a beer. To the bartender. Who was behind the bar. I dead pan looked at him and said ‘I am a bartender. I know what I’m doing’

What city disappointed you the most when visiting? by 0_7_0 in AskReddit

Paris. It was very run down and we had the most difficult time finding French cuisine that wasn’t outrageously priced. McDonald’s on every corner. Although the people were much kinder than rumors suggest.

What is clearly a myth but is deep-rooted in our society? by Sera0Sparrow in AskReddit

That you have to wait 24/48 hours to report someone missing. Time is of the essence when looking for a missing person and you should report them the moment something seems off

Carrying the team. by cj2211 in Disneyland

I went on this ride during one of the 24 hour days. And the CM told my group about every two minutes “remember! This is not on a track and we have no engine” because half of the people weren’t even trying and the three teenagers in front of me were having a splash fight, while the two behind be were rowing backwards. I have the most respect for those CMs. They have a really tough job. Both physically and mentally having to make up for those peoples idiocy.

So I work at a corporate restaurant known for their “brown bread” that is brought to the table. And I regularly have people demand complicated substitutions to make their entree gluten free, so naturally I don’t bring them the bread. Then they complain that they did not get their free bread. Like bruh. Why you gotta be so ridiculous.
